Description

Carista is a mobile app which empowers you to seamlessly diagnose, customize, and service your car. Just plug in your OBD2 adapter, launch the app, and save time and money on dealers and mechanics. Free Features: • Diagnose: Carista checks your vehicle's health and enables you to clear any fault codes to reset your “check engine" light. You can also ensure you are ready for emissions testing. Paid Features (supported vehicles only): • Diagnose: Unlike regular OBD2 apps, Carista gives you access to advanced manufacturer-specific diagnostics related to various vehicle electronic control units (ECU) such as ABS, airbag, immobilizer, navigation, and traction control. • Customize: Carista lets you personalize the way your car behaves. Say you want your headlights to come on automatically when you start the engine; or you want the doors to lock when you start moving; or you want to change the type of beep that the reverse parking sensors make. It’s as easy as customizing the settings on your smartphone. • Service: Carista gives you access to electronic service tools for your car. You can reset the oil & inspection service indicators, service your electronic parking brake (EPB) to replace your brake pads by yourself, and see your launch control count. Is my car supported? See: https://caristaapp.com/vehicles Pricing: All paid features (see above) are available with an in-app purchase of our Pro functionality: a 1-week pass for $9.99 USD or an auto-renewable subscription at $39.99 USD/year. If you use the official Carista OBD2 adapter, you will receive a free one-month trial of all paid features by picking the yearly subscription. Here are Apple's rules on auto-renewable subscriptions: • Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period • Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal • Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase • Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable Hardware Requirement: In order to use Carista, you need an OBD2 adapter - a separate piece of hardware that you plug into the vehicle's diagnostic port under the dash. You can use the Carista OBD2 adapter, a Kiwi3 adapter or a generic ELM327 v1.4 WiFi adapter (just make sure it’s not fake/defective; note that generic Bluetooth adapters are not supported). Great app and a must for any vw or Audi owner.

Pretty disappointed. Bought the module thinking that it was it. NO, you need to pay a subscription. You would be better off buying a obd2 code reader and doing things yourself. This is a joke, avoid at all cost.

Purchased the micro mechanic as seen on TV scanner and use the micro mechanic app but that did not work, so I switched apps and use Carista and that app work very well, And That told me what the code was and I was able to clear the code. Very well done.

App is great and worked well on my 2013 VW GTI. Looking for the monthly subscription option, but I only see two options, each for the one year option. Would be great to subscribe every once in while to make some more changes.

Does the subscription matter how much you get or no?

You must view terms to use app but clicking on link takes you to Carista website where terms link does not work with iOS. Glad I didn’t buy adapter yet.

  • When it works

For some reason it doesn’t connect half the time. I have to delete app and reload it then restore purchases. Then hope it works. When it does work it’s pretty cool. Customize settings for your car like windows, door locks, lights and signal options.
  • Great app. Did just what I needed it to do!

I paid for the $9.99 week access to make a few tweaks and it was perfect. Cheap date as far as I’m concerned
