  • Kids lock (horrible app) One star

So when I bought kidslock i didn’t really understood how it worked. I didn’t like it, my child also didn’t like that I had to use a APP to keep her off her phone. And I do not think parents should have to use an app to make sure their children are not on their phones or any device. I also think that parents should get off their buts and check for their selfs, but their is pros and cons about this app. I get that if any parent is out and about and their kid has a babysitter with their child and their child is supposed to do their homework you would need to check on them but my opinion is that the app is confusing and is very controlling. :(
  • Unfair

This is unfair for kids like parents stay on their phones more than their kids like am gonna use this to control my parents phone >:)
  • Not quite it

I had to delete the app after trying it for a few days. The scheduled time ticks down even if the screen is on but not being used or when used in parent mode. The app is hidden when in child/lockdown mode making it difficult to access and control in parent mode. Some apps are available and some are hidden in child mode for unknown reasons. Too many unexplained things happening causing arguments with a tween. Don’t need the added grief! Keep trying!
  • Good app - with limitations

Been using it for about 9 months on three iOS devices. It’s a little buggy but not bad. Blocking specific sites is an issue since, apparently, you can’t just block YouTube, you have to block ANY site that is a spin off or back door to it. They say developers are workin on it. Also, lockdown mode DOESNT disable internal iOS items like texting, it still works in what you would assume is truly lockdown. Frustrating to pay for it. Anyhow, decent enough for now but looking for something that does what it really says deep down when you begin to dig into it. Probably the better one out there currently but again, I’m looking to switch.

My son and I sat down and discussed rules and terms for phone use. He loves video games and would play all day if I allowed that. I was able to customize the controls for his phone to create reasonable amounts of game time. He HATES it! Haha. It shuts off access if your child goes beyond their set time or if you don’t want them on at a certain time they won’t have access to apps then too. It filters out adult content when online. We haven’t gotten to social media yet, but you can have some control with that too. My child cannot delete the app not matter how hard he tries. Trust me he tries, often. I can control all of this from my phone. Being able to regulate phone usage and not having to be right next to him is so convenient. I also feel that he’s safer going online bc I know it’s been filtered. Btw, the one star reviews are often kids bc they can leave a review. My son has left several one star reviews!
