    Overall the app is good and easy to use. However it is impossible to get in touch with someone through email/phone that can help you. The app basically doesn’t allow you to and it just continuously sends you in circles and back-and-forth to the FAQ page. I am both a seller and a buyer and unfortunately since I cannot get in contact with anyone through the app I am forced to ask questions here. I had a buyer make a purchase from me and then cancel it within minutes, I approved the cancellation because I figured they made the purchase in error and it’s not a big deal. However, I find it terrible that mercari would take away MY reliable badge and then follow up with an email regarding the importance of reliability!! What sense does it have? I did not make the cancellation but I am being penalized for it rather than the buyer? Please fix this problem ASAP. sellers are your bread and butter and should be just as protected as buyers!!

    I bought a IPhone 7 Plus on the site. The seller listed the phone in mint condition. When I received the device it had water damaged. There are water marks inside the screen. I emailed the seller right away. Who tired blaming it on the shipping company. We was even fast to try and offer a partial refund. I told him it didn’t match the description. So I would like to return it. Silence from the seller. So I decided to make Mercari for help. I filled out the forms they asked. I even sent them picture of the iPhone. No response for over three days. When they did finally respond it was to just say we want more pictures. Talk about a huge waste of time.

    I signed up for Mercari after a friend referred me with a coupon for my first purchase. After finding something I wanted I looked back at the referral email to find my coupon but there was no code so I guess it was supposed to be automatically applied. It wasn't. I tried contacting customer service (which wasn't easy since the email address is all but hidden) and was told that coupons are automatically applied at checkout so if it's not there- tough luck. I made my first purchase without any coupon. Now weeks later Mercari emailed me that I had a coupon applied to my account! I was excited! I made a mental note that the coupon was to expire on the 25th (a few days after the email was sent). I waited for my check from work to clear. I found something I wanted to buy and opened the app to use my coupon ... but it was gone. Turns out it expired at 3am last night. Read the fine print and don't expect any friendly customer service from Mercari.

    Horrible app! I sold something and it doesn’t tell me WHO bought it, WHERE to send it, and PRINT LABEL gives an error. No customer service either! STICK WITH eBay!

    they will keep your money, give your item to buyer for free and you will end up with nothing, if you sell a phone and if buyer email to mercari that phone is stolen , mercari crooks will keep your money and your phone will be gone to buyer for free, so if you want to have a free phone buy from mercari and says phone is stolen , you will have a new phone for free, mercari Aholes don the same thing to me,

    I’ve been selling on mercari for a year. If you sell more than just you house hold stuff then mercari is not reliable. Let me first get to the major flaws. * you can’t search in your own inventory. This makes it really hard to keep your closet updated. So if you bundle for a buyer it’s going to be an inconvenience. * mercari has badges for response time, shipping speed and reliability. Here’s the problem with this. I get hundreds of buyers wanting me to lower my price. Even if it says firm. You don’t get a choice to not receive offers. So I have to respond to every single low baller who comes my way. And mercari is chocked full of low ballers. Also there’s no badges for sellers and they can run all over buyers. 95% of holds don’t go through. AND I ship usps every day and Fedex on M, W, F. I can’t get my badge for shipping speed. Idk why? *mercari customer service is terrible and really slow. 2-3 day wait periods. * sellers can not work things out with the buyer on their own. You can’t resend another item if that’s what your customer wants. You can’t do a partial refund. Sellers can not authorize returns with out holding mercari hand. If you accidentally send the wrong item or there is a case of buyer remorse you will NOT GET PAID AND WILL NEVER RECEIVE YOUR ITEM BACK. Because mercari has to make this return happen and as I said before there customer service is negligent. 2-3 day wait periods. *IF YOU GET KICKED OFF YOU LOSE YOUR MONEY. So make sure never to leave money in Mercari. I have 2 stars. Not 1. Because it’s fine for buyers. I buy from there all the time. Oh that brings up that mercari seems to like to kicks people off that inconvenience them. So be careful how many times you use your buyer protection. This is per Facebook reviews. UPDATE: see the auto response below. It has nothing to do with my review so no one has taken time read it. They have a 2-3 day wait period on customer service. Terrible. Just don’t do it. You will regret it in a year. I’m done with it after Christmas is over.
