Instantly view travel time (by car, transit* and/or walking) to your favourite places. Share your arrival time securely to friends and family. In a tap get driving directions in your favourite maps app. As seen on TechCrunch, MacStories, iMore and AppAdvice! ** ETA is your personal assistant providing you with quick access to travel times, transit and driving directions to all your favourite destinations. Driving times to your locations are conveniently presented on a single screen with an indication of current traffic alongside. In a tap you're delivered pre-routed, turn-by-turn driving directions in your favourite navigation app. Travelling by transit? No problems, ETA has you covered. In addition to driving and walking, ETA offers travel time travelling by public transportation (check to see if this feature is available in your area). ETA is simple to use and provides you with the information you need to navigate your city. It's also a great companion to the navigation apps you've come to love (including Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Transit and CityMapper). ETA is available as an iPhone app, a widget in Today View and on your Apple Watch. To allow ongoing updating of the Complication for Apple Watch, ETA needs to operate in the background on your iPhone. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. # Reviews # “[ETA offers] a simpler, faster and generally less cumbersome experience [than maps apps]” - TechCrunch “The app features a beautifully minimal, elegant design that is top notch.” - AppAdvice “This app may be simple, but it is invaluable for people like me who regularly travel across highly trafficked areas.” - iDownloadBlog “It's simple, but it's a really nice way to just glance at travel times without messing around with a maps app.” - Life Hacker “ETA is an extremely useful app that I will use all the time. It's the kind of thing Apple should build into Maps.” - TUAW "While many map apps can give you estimates for a current route, none of them let you save locations as conveniently as ETA does." - iMore # Countries Supported # To calculate travel time ETA requires Apple Maps support for driving directions in your country. Please check the following list to ensure ETA will work in your area: To calculate traffic aware travel times ETA requires Apple Maps support for traffic in your country. Every couple of years, I install ETA to see if it finally works. With my latest attempt, it still doesn't. In particular, the phone app, today widget, watch app, and watch complication so not sync and do not update regularly. They only way to get a current ETA is to manually refresh the iPhone app. This has been the case for years across multiple devices that I have owned and used in that span. I have location data set to always allow and background refresh enabled.
  • Missing Apple Watch complications

The app is missing complications for the Infograph watch face, which would be great to have.
  • Not working on cellular Apple Watch..

    By BennieMac
works good as long as my phone is near but it locks up and refuses to do anything on my Apple Watch cellular series 4 unless my phone is near which defeats the purpose of having the Apple Watch cellular, great app guys please fix it....😁 Guys I deleted it off of my phone and my watch reinstalled it and it worked good for a day and now it’s freezing up again
  • Doesn’t Work

    By wmdnfhsosm
I only bought the app to use with my Apple Watch since the Transit app no longer works on it. It 1. is inaccurate and 2. only updates once you physically refresh it.
  • Was not what I was looking for

    By Gigi9585
I can see how his would be useful for people who drive, but it is not very useful for transit. It just tells you the start to end travel duration which is only accurate if you arrive at the station at the exact time as the train. I was looking more for an app that would tell me when to leave my house to make the next possible train, which this doesn’t do without a few clicks.

Don’t bother if you have a Series 1 watch.
  • Needs improvement for Apple Watch Complications

ETA is a great concept. The app does give an eta on my saved destination but it needs work on the Apple Watch Complication. These are my feedback notes and I hope the developer(s) sees them. First, the Complication does not automatically update when I raise my wrist. I have to open the app on the watch, go to the main screen, force press to get the option to refresh. The app will save what screen you are on when you use the Complication but when you leave with the destination screen selected, the only force touch option is “Set Complication”. If we can’t get the functionality to have the Complication update in real time or every minute or every time you raise your wrist, then we need a second force touch option, to force refresh, when you are in a destination screen. Honestly, the ability to have it update automatically in real time is more preferred. Second, in the new Infograph face, what does the numbers mean? The graph for the Complication has min 0 and a variable max. The indicator dot on the graph line does not move. The variable max number does not match the ETA timer. An example, I have a 40 minute commute and the Complication is set to 0 - 13. What is the 13? It’s not miles. I have no idea what the function is for. This needs context. If it was explained, I’m sorry for not seeing it. Third, the developer website only loads the message “Mcrypt PHP extension required.”. This comes off on both Chrome and Safari browsers. I wanted to give my feedback there instead of a review and I couldn’t find a developer email.
  • No support or watch

It crashes on Apple Watch (won’t start) and the developer site is offline.
  • Please make it better

I downloaded hoping it’d help me plan trips. It’d be better if you’d show how long it’d take for me to get to my destination at different times, like a trip planner. Right now it’s not useful, I can just use my maps and I wasted $3
