  • Great Note taking app!!!!

I use my iPad as my daily college notebook with this app. The best feature is the ability to copy PDF files to highlight or taking notes on it. Very helpful!
  • Great app pros and cons to this or notability

Pros: Easy to make shapes Great zoom in feature Really nice pencil/highlighter etc. basic writing tools are better Loads of different paper options Cons: No infinite scroll Can’t rotate text any orientation with the lasso tool Can’t put audio inside of notes Can’t link URL directly in notes Would also really really like to make more folders. Doesn’t appear to be supported on noteability either though Would love to add certain helpful pre-built drawings like tables for example. Don’t enjoy drawing them by hand using the shape tool
  • Great for math teachers

I have been using Good Notes for about 2 weeks and it is exactly what I hoped for. I can plan my classes, write up notes, example problems, and solution sets in this digital note book. It makes sharing with students and support folks really easy. Old school notebook meets digital ease ... it’s perfect!
  • The first app that might actually get me to go paperless

I LOVE this app, I hesitated to buy it for the longest time because I have been trying to go paperless for well over a year now and have tried every note app out there including Evernote, notability, noteshelf, etc. I’ve spent over 40 bucks on note apps that I use consistently for a couple of weeks and then I’m back to paper. None of the previous apps held my attention for one reason or other. I’ve been using GoodNotes consistently for about 4 months now and I love it. I recently used just this to study for a major exam I had and it was so amazing to just have to carry around my iPad and Apple Pencil and be able to study whenever I had a free moment instead of having notebooks and books. Plus being able to take pictures of slides and materials and write right on them really helped with retaining information. Also I can switch seamlessly between taking notes on my iPad and looking at them on my iPhone without missing a beat. I have a Paperlike screen protector I’m using with goodnotes and its an awesome “notebook like” experience and as close as I think I can get to paper without the weight and waste. Suggestion to developers: The only thing I wish was different is I hope they get way more notebook covers and paper types (COLORED PAPER!!) I have a lot of notebooks in my app and have exhausted all the existing covers so I’m hoping to see a lot more options.
  • So Far, So Good

I started using “GoodNotes” this semester of my college classes - Fall of 2018. So far I’ve been satisfied with my experience with the app. I currently use an iPad 6th Gen. (the iPad other than the “Pro” series that you can use the Apple Pencil with). So far, I’ve had really good results with this app. (Now if the developers could possibly add a feature to help me to “read” my own handwriting... Then we’d have a complete winner! ) Seriously, I think this app is really good as it is. But I also think there is a lot of room for improvements. (Not that it is a bad thing).

Everything is satisfying! It would be better if I can also use dual screen for this app, meaning both screen as GoodNotes. So I can refer to my notes as I’m writing something else.
  • Ink to Text is not at all what I expected

I'm sure this is a fit for some people. But, it does not convert ink to text in real time. Quite different from how Nebo works. Can I get a refund?
  • Great for Notes, not Great for Large Projects

I’m a college student and I’ve been using this app to take notes on my iPad for class, and it works really well for uploading a pdf or PowerPoint and editing it, taking notes on it, etc. The pen is very smooth, and it integrates well. I have run into a problem when it comes to a handwritten notebook, however, in that as I got to 30+ pages, the app started getting very slow, the highlighter function caused a lot of problems, and eventually the app crashed. I reloaded it several times and even restarted my iPad but the problem persisted. I will definitely keep using the app for notes on pdf files, but I will probably take my longer projects elsewhere as it sets me back quite a lot in terms of the time it takes to do anything.

  • Solid app but missing key features

I do basic note taking and math problems daily using an Apple Pencil, and this app is capable with all its tools and features. I do think however, that there are a lot of features that this app does NOT have, and it gets really frustrating when I need them. One example would be rotation... you can re-size a selection but you can’t rotate it..what?
