Hopscotch is coding made for you. Learn to code by making things you enjoy playing. Our award-winning block-based language was built from the ground up to be used on your touchscreen iOS device. With Hopscotch, you get a blank canvas for your imagination, a community filled with inspiration, and an audience to begin using your products the moment you publish them. Winner of the following awards:: ** Parents Magazine: Best Apps for Families ** ** Children’s Technology Review: Best Educational Technology ** ** FastCompany: Innovation By Design Finalist ** ---------- + Beautiful and easy Hopscotch was designed from the ground up for your device. We’ve fussed over every block, corner, and icon to make sure that the only thing you notice is what you’re creating. + Typing is overrated Blocks are the favored way to learn to program from Harvard and MIT to Code.org and Google. Being able to type alert(‘Hello, World!’) is not the same as being able to code an app. Use blocks to learn coding logic and concepts before diving into the syntax of coding languages. + We know our stuff Start your journey as a coder with our easy-to-follow tutorials. Immediately apply what you’ve learned to make your own art and games. We’ve taught millions of kids across the world to code, and bring the direct experience of educators from MIT, Princeton, Girls Who Code, and Xerox Parc. + Kids, programmers, parents, and teachers love coding on Hopscotch: “Hopscotch is the best way to express my creativity.” — Nico, 13 “Wow, I never knew I could make my own game. I’m completely addicted. It’s so much more fun to make games than play them.” — Ethan, 12 “My daughter is obsessed with Hopscotch. Instead of playing games, she is building and publishing her own. It’s brilliant.” — Paul, dad “My students love working on this app and being able to code has given them a much better understanding of how computers work. Hopscotch has demystified the tech in their lives. Now, they look at something on the computer and say “I could code that!”’ — Jesse, 5th grade teacher “I'm 39 years old. It has been years since I did any programming, but I got into Hopscotch earlier this month after exploring it with my 12-year-old son... I'm now addicted and last night published my first game!” — Andrew, dad and former programmer “Hopscotch is so much more than a kid's toy. It is a Turing-complete language and seamless programming environment for writing and prototyping real video games.” — Emily, pro game designer “Stylistically it beats out everything else, and makes [competitors] look like a beta version from 1998.” — S., educator ---------- We can’t wait to see what you create. ** Featured by the Apple App Store Editors ** ** Featured in The New York Times ** ** Featured in The Wall Street Journal ** ** Featured in WIRED ** ** Featured in Parents Magazine ** ** Featured in FastCompany ** Learn more about Hopscotch at gethopscotch.com ---------- Hopscotch Subscription Terms: All the resources and tools to learn how to code, for $7.99 month / $79.99 year: + Unlimited access to all tutorials (more added each month!!) + Build with the power of the full Hopscotch toolset + Upload your own art and images to the Hopscotch cloud Get a 7-day free trial when you join Hopscotch on a monthly basis. • Awesome!

The base of the game is pretty good, as you can basically make whatever you want. But the thing that I think Hopscotch Lacks are more sound options. You could still make songs by combining different sounds but that's really it. I feel like you should add either more sounds, or allow recording. Besides that Hopscotch is the #1 app on my phone. Thank you for reading this and I hope you consider this.
  • My favorite app

Custom images have taken my games to the next level. Also loving the iPhone version. Makes it easy for me to code and create wherever I am.

  • Well..

It's a great app to start your coding, but within quick time it gets kind of boring. I have stuck with it for almost a year now, and have decided to leave both the app and the forum. It's fun at the start, but it's a little boring after 3-4 months.
  • Went downhill

Was fun and educational until the vip system came and ruined everything. There were so many tutorials for everyone to learn and now there's only 3. How are you supposed to learn how to code now? The title of the app is a lie now. Not everyone has money they can spend all the time. At least make more tutorials for non-vips.
  • It is awesome!!!!
