This app is a CLIENT for the Blue Iris Windows PC software. In order to make use of this app, you must have Blue Iris version 4 installed and running on a Windows PC or VM. Instructions for connecting this app to the PC software are found in the Networking topic of its Help file. This app provides a single point of contact to your home camera network. There is no need to insecurely open individual cameras to the Internet. This app connects using a secure and session-based protocol--no passwords are transmitted in plain text. Remote access does require router configuration, which you can test without the app by using Safari. You should see your Blue Iris login page. Key features include: - Manage multiple Blue Iris installations - Geofencing: set status, send alerts, and more in response to device location * - Control the traffic signal icon, schedule and profile selection - Receive iOS push notification alerts when a Blue Iris camera is triggered or there is a critical status message - Fast H.264 streaming - Control PTZ, IR and more for any camera that’s also controllable at the Blue Iris PC - Listen to and talk to any camera that’s also supported at the Blue Iris PC - Navigate cameras by tapping and swiping - Review recordings as stored on the Blue Iris PC, up to 64x speed - Download recorded video from the Blue Iris PC to the iOS device - Selectively delete recordings from the Blue Iris PC - Broadcast live video from the iOS device directly into a Blue Iris PC camera window - Remote control DIO output signals on compatible devices - Baby monitor functionality: continue to listen to audio with app closed or device in standby ** * Note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. ** Note that continued use of audio streaming running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

  • Terrific and essential

This program, and its support system, is unsurpassed and in a league of its own. It integrates all your cameras into a single app for desktop and mobile viewing, both at home and away. I have 4 different cameras around my house and the idea of having to use 4 separate apps to view them is not an option. BI puts them all together, allows for live streaming, remote alarms, voice exchange, and free storage to your own hard disk. This just can’t be matched. Support is great via email and remote access is available with priority support. Ken, his software and his team are a seamless part of my home monitoring and I’d pay double for what I get from them.
  • Latest version 1.60.02 doesn't fit properly onto iPhone 5s screen

    By Cvs customer310
I downloaded the 1.60.01 version that was released on February 2, 2018. The previous versions worked nicely on my iPhone 5s. I installed the new version and now the play/scrub bar doesn't fit on screen properly. In either normal or landscape view the app has the bars off the screen. In landscape mode it even goes through the play/pause icons. This is also along with the begin and end button icons. My iPhone is at iOS 9.1 because of another app I use for another reason. I have emailed support, and hope they will fix it. Support wrote back and somehow thought I am running Blue Iris version 3 on my server. I do have a version 3 license but have been running version 4 for about 18 months. The app would do no good for me otherwise. I wrote Ken who is the owner of software and app. He wanted me to get back on support. So I paid for support and wrote him @ support to let him know that the 1.60.02 version still does the same thing. I haven't received any reply, and am going to be writing him again. I hope my support money isn't being wasted like others have said about there issues not being addressed. I would think it would be feasible to set the formatting back to the same dominions as it was in 9.x apps.
  • Vers 1.60.01 broken

    By ptfcal
Do not install version 1.60.01. The timeline slider in the alert view section is broken (again). It's rarely safe to update this app right away, since there's usually at least one new bug and no apparent way to revert to the previous (working) version, so you have to deal with the broken version until the author gets around to fixing it (thanks a lot Apple--really smooth process, love the heinous restrictions). Beware until 1.60.02 is available.
  • Was Great but new update broke it

Can no longer save videos on the phone. Get an incomparable error saving to the photo album. Everything was great until I updated. Fix this!!
  • Nice Companion to Blue Iris NVR

I’ve been testing remotely for about a week and it has been rock solid for the basic function of viewing motion alerts—definitely worth the price! I have much to learn regarding the various features and configuration of Blue Iris NVR and the iPhone app but I’m already a believer because core functionality on both work so well. I’m getting ready to work with Support for using a Samsung/Hanwha PNV-9080R and it will be worth the effort. I’m moving to all 4K+ cams and I’m optimistic the foundation can handle it. So much better than my old dedicated NVR which was full of bugs! My NVR has robust hardware (8th gen I7 / 32G RAM) and responds well—the responsiveness continues to be good using the remote app, so it seems well designed. I was under the impression the NVR supports H.265 so it would be nice if the remote does also as do my new 4K cams. I’m not sure about the description saying no router config needed...I set up port forwarding for remote access to NVR as documented, but it works just the same.
  • The Best, for me

I didn’t want to implement a stand-alone NVR. This server software that runs on one of my PCs is fantastic and meets my needs. Together the PC Blue Iris software and this App do everything I could ask for. I have configured into Blue Iris cameras from both TRENDnet and SUNBA manufacturers. I have configured all cameras to record continuously - 24/7. But you can establish time of day recordings or motion-triggered recordings if that’s your preference. I have the storage capacity for continuous recording. The PC is loaded with two 1TB SSD drives dedicated to retaining 30 days of content for all of the 6 cameras I have installed into BI. I plan to add a HIkvision doorbell camera as soon as it arrives from ALIExpress (not available yet in U.S.). The server software allows review of saved videos and they can be viewed slowly or at speeds up to 128x. The videos or portions can be exported to .mp4 format. I will say because BI is so robust there is a substantial learning curve to become fluent with all its features. And independently of BI one needs to be experienced with their router, with static IP addresses for the cameras, and proper port forwarding. Basic router/camera stuff. But in the end, using my iPhone and this nifty App, I have full access to all my cameras, video & audio (audio if supported by the camera) from inside the home or from ANYWHERE in the world. The server software is reasonably priced and the App is free. You cannot go wrong.
