  • You have to call to cancel free trial

Irritated that I have to call. We are happy with the dinner meal plans.....so far all the dinners we chose were a hit. I selected the lunch option during the trial to see what was there but you can’t remove it. Trial was ending then I determined there is no way to cancel online or through the app. I will not be joining for this reason. Dirty practice to take advantage of people trying out your product. You have a good thing why do this?
  • I absolutely love eMeals!!!

Upon reading reviews people have left, I see that eMeals has corrected a lot of what was wrong. Or improved, because the things I love are the suggestions I have read that people have. The meals are delicious, I love that you can bounce back and forth to different plans. For recipes and a different vibe. The grocery cart is an awesome feature. My one suggestion is a way to sinc it with MyFitnessPal so I can track calories. There is no easy way to load it into that app, to get a accurate nutrition breakdown for those that track. It's does offer it's own breakdown at the bottom of the recipe, so you know what you are consuming, but if you are tracking in MFP you can only add the calories you consumed and loose the breakdown of macro nutrients. It would be great to have, but I love this so much, it's not a game changer.
  • Great and easy recipies

Love the recipie ideas, grocery list and clear and easy directions. I am on the low calorie plan, and so far, about 75% of the recipies are keepers. A few suggestions; It would be great if there was a way that you could add your own notes at the bottom of a recipe. I'm always adding or ommiting something, so would be good to be able to remind myself what worked and what didn't about the recipie. It would also be nice if you could cross out a recipie once you had tried it or decided it wasn't something you weren't going to make. Then when you are looking at past meal plans you can easily see what you have left on that particular week. Maybe that's just my own ocd need to cross stuff off!
  • Needs a plant based option

I really like it and it makes meal planning much easier. I just wish that there was a plant based option... not just vegetarian.
  • Fix the App!!!!!

So we renewed our subscription through Apple and it says we did, but the app still says we don't have a subscription, and now the app is useless and we are out $60
  • Horrible customer service and outdated nutrition

Do NOT give this company your money. To force a phone call to cancel a free trial is ridiculous, especially when customer service support is available online. Yes- it's in the customer service agreement, so shame on me. But. Shame on them as it's simply their way of stealing money. Most of us don't have or take time to make phone calls in our busy lives. If your product is so fantastic, trust that it will stand the test of the free trial, and allow online cancellation like every other subscription service in the modern world. Also, the diabetic plan is so bad for diabetics-- it includes breads, pastas, potatoes, etc. Their response stated they are professional dieticians following ADA guidelines. ADA guidelines, we all know now, are ridiculously outdated and have led, in large part, to today's epidemic levels of diabetes, metabolic disorders, inflammation leading to heart disease, etc. Further, the low-carb menu only includes "net carbs"- which makes a possibly good plan option for diabetics no longer useable. Much improvement to this app needs to be made until I would consider it worthwhile and trustworthy. Don't waste your money.

As a family we love the app. Makes dinner planning so much easier. I suggest add a notes section for when you save a favorite recipe. So we can note any changes we made.

I'm giving this a one for the sole purpose of me being charged the subscription rate TWICE within a 2 week period. I did the 14-day free trial and selected to have the 1 year membership upon the completion of my trial. All was well and I was thoroughly enjoying the app so I allowed the subscription to begin on September 4,2017. I had no issues during the first week of my subscription, however this week (week 2) when I went in to check out the new menus, it said my subscription had expired. I wasn't sure what had happened and I clicked "subscribe" thinking it would do like most other apps and say "you have already paid; restore purchase" or something of that nature, but no- it charged me $59.99 AGAIN!!! That's $120 in 2 weeks time- not exactly pocket change for my middle class budget! Then I could not figure out a way to contact the company so I'm sitting here, out an extra $60 and no way to get it back. If they see this review and rectify the situation, I will update with a fair and honest review- until then, one star for what I am left thinking is a dishonest, scheming company.
  • Lifesaver for our family

With a growing family, we find it hard to get simple, healthy dinners on the table. After trying a few meal kits, I figured we'd give emeals a try. We love the variety of meal plan options, but we mostly stick to quick and healthy. Having healthy meals in under 30 minutes is a lifesaver! We even get our groceries delivered to our door through the grocery integration. Not sure how my busy family would make it without emeals.
  • Not cheaper

I subscribed and picked meals for 2. I picked a meal plan and picked items for one week at my local store via the app. The groceries ended up costing $80 for one week which is $20 to 30 more than I normally spend for TWO weeks of groceries. Following these plans would cost me $360 per month instead of my usual $100-150. The meals look great but I wish the food it called for was in more than one meal. 7 meals with completely different ingredients is great for variety but breaks the bank.
