Description

Caio Terra’s Modern Jiu-Jitsu: Closed Guard Attacks This is the first in a series of apps to be released by Caio Terra and Mobile Black Belt. Developing a strong closed guard is an essential part of developing a solid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu game. In this app, you will learn some of the most effective attacks to finish your opponent quickly. Caio teaches his unique approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, revealing details and secrets that make his style so effective. Each position in the series is in a logical sequence so one technique flows into the next. This “linking” of techniques will help you develop a deeper understanding of the movements and help you develop a more advanced game. Caio believes that one must master the beginning levels without developing bad habits to be able to move on to the more advanced levels successfully. It’s hard to argue with someone who received his black belt in three years and then went on to win the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, Pan American Championship and World No-Gi Championship all at the black belt level! Caio Terra’s new mobile app series is a game changer. Techniques: Closed Guard // Attacks 1. Breaking Posture 2. Armbar 3. Triangle Details 4. Triangle 5. Double Ankle Sweep 6. This instructional app is outstanding! The philosophy of each move is given along with painstaking technical detail. For the arm bar from closed guard, for example, we see Caio break his partner's posture and secure the arm while his partner restores posture. He does this by using both hands against the target arm while twisting his body to the target arm side, instead of the usual practice of staying parallel or immediately going to the opposite side. He slips one hand up to the opponent's head holding him in place. With the arm secured, he consolidates the hold using the target side leg, putting it over the opponent's back and applying downward pressure. At times in the application, you're not sure if he's looking for a triangle or an arm bar, which is part of the beauty of his approach! He then twists to the traditional side opposite the target arm, brings his hips up, and gets the tap. If the opponent tries to stack him along the way, he uses his arm to push the head down and give room for the near side leg to come under the arm pit. Only here does the technique look like the traditional arm bar. We get to see this in slow/stop motion with Caio's detailed narrative, from several different angles. Wow! Technique conquers all!

I used to train with Caoi Terra when he first moved to USA. Now he has his own school way out of town, I have been busy. So I use this app to review and study what I have learned. Nice for work during lunch breaks.

Good instruction and outstanding quality! I would purchase the others but $15 is a little too steep.

I must first qualify myself by stating I have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 4 years now. Like a lot of us that train BJJ, it is on my mind a lot. When I'm not training I am often watching BJJ instructional apps. Out of all the apps available for purchase, I must profess that nobody does it better than Black Belt Mobile. Period. Great quality video, sound. I love the brief explanation of each move, then you can watch the move in slow motion many more times from different angles. I can only hope that CT puts out more of these (Gi and No Gi).
