  • Unable to use free with Fios

This CBS app is a complete waste of time. They claim it can be used with a Verizon Fios account but that’s a complete and total lie.
  • CBS just doesn’t get it

I downloaded this app for the sole purpose of watching Star Trek Discovery, which I have enjoyed. CBS has essentially extorted the monthly fee for this app for the fans of the show. I hope that the producers sell the show to Netflix or Amazon and we can view it next season in one of their apps. Les Moonves can kiss my sweaty Italian bald head.
  • Lack of content

This isn’t exactly about the form of the app but the app does not contain every season of some shows otherwise contained.
  • Just a crappy app

I would give the app 0 stars but don’t have the option. Its mind boggling to me that the overall rating is showing over 4 stars. The only reason I even use this p.o.s. is because CBS is basically blackmailing Trek fans. It’s one thing for streaming only apps like Netflix and Hulu to have their own exclusive content but a TV network? CBS all access, I’m telling you right now as soon as the Trek season ends, so do you. I would have silently put up with your low life strategy because the app was at least playing the episodes ok but now it doesn’t even do that. Like others have mentioned, if you pause, it won’t let you start playing again. If you stop the episode and select resume it takes you back to the beginning. Hell, it doesn’t even ff through the episode correctly. CBS all access is a boon doggle bar none. Here’s what fundamentally wrong with this App. You can get CBS through streaming services like Hulu, sling, PS Vue etc. fine. But that still won’t get you Star Trek Discovery. You are forced into subscribing to their particular app to watch one show which effects streamers and non-streamers alike. Like I said above, Black mail.
  • Very buggy

I have a paid subscription and would expect a quality app. If using on my phone or Apple TV, pausing a show during playback does not recover. I have to exit app and start the show over. That is just one of many bugs I have encountered, I wish CBS app test teams would do a better job catching these issues.
  • Stable but costly

I am the audience CBS hopes to reach with this app being 23 and streaming through Apple TV. The app in this state is the most stable I’ve experienced since subscribing over 1 1/2 years ago so they’ve finally figured that out after much frustration and many soft resets. I leave a star out because it’s bizarre to pay for access to a CBS livestream. They still provide free distribution via tv antennae, but I guess they have to catch up with NBC and ABC somehow through this app after missing out on Hulu. I only maintain my subscription because I use it to watch the morning and evening news, meaning I still watch commercials. It’s not necessarily negative, it just feels disingenuous.
  • The entire Star Trek library on a really lame app!

I only pay for this app to watch Star Trek: Discovery. Love it. I also pay for Netflix. Love it. Be more like Netflix. 🖖🏾
  • Poor playback buffering, sluggish app, broken casting

Great content but the app feels very broken. Scrolling for shows is unintuitive. Casting to Chromecast just stops about 5 times per episode. Playback starts 5-10 minutes before where you left off letting you catch commercials repeatedly. Buffering is nonexistent. No download options. Happy to pay for the content. Shameful to charge for this app.
  • No problems

I just recently started watching more shows on CBS and I don’t always want to record everything so it’s nice to watch here. I really like that I can stop watching a show and come back later to resume from were I left off. Perfect for my needs.

First year CS majors could design an app that crashes less. I can’t make it through a single episode without it crashing at least once. It keeps making me rewatch commercials. Do you do this on purpose to make more ad revenue?!?
