Dark Sky is the most accurate source of hyperlocal weather information. With down-to-the-minute forecasts, you’ll know exactly when the rain will start or stop, right where you’re standing. (It’s like magic.) Featured in: New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Wired, and more. YOUR WEATHER, DOWN TO THE MINUTE Dark Sky is able to create forecasts for your precise location, giving you minute-by-minute predictions for the next hour and hour-by-hour forecasts for the next day and week. BEAUTIFUL WEATHER ANIMATIONS The same technology that powers Dark Sky’s predictions also allows us to make the world’s first perfectly smooth radar animation. Other apps show you a chunky slideshow that makes it nearly impossible to tell how storms are moving. But Dark Sky’s radar animation lets you see the actual path of the storm: how it moved in the past, and where it’s going in the future. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS Dark Sky comes with advanced notification options: Receive down-to-the-minute alerts before it starts raining at your exact location, get notified of government severe weather alerts (for such things as thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, etc.), or even create your own custom notifications covering the next 24 hours for things like temperature, wind, precipitation and more. Even if you haven’t opened the app in days, Dark Sky will tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it. TODAY WIDGET The Dark Sky Notification Center Widget tells you at a glance what’s going to happen in the next hour and the next week, so you don’t even have to unlock your phone to quickly check the weather before heading out. TIME MACHINE Explore weather in the past or future. Choose a date and see historical weather data or future predictions based off of seasonal averages. APPLE WATCH Dark Sky looks great on your wrist. Get notifications and check out the weather for the next week with the Dark Sky app built from scratch for Apple Watch.

  • Spamming me

    By anengen
I love this app but it’s spamming me with notifications that rain is starting, then ending, then starting again many times a day!
  • Great app, but issues with updating forecast

    By Pylesdriver
I love the interface and the accuracy of the app, however it seems to have frequent issues with updating on the Apple Watch face. I have Dark Sky set as a complication on one of my watch faces, however it doesn’t show the weather. Instead it shows dashed lines. Tried closing the app and reopening on both my iPhone XS and Series 3 Apple Watch (WiFi + GPS) to no avail.
  • What happened?!?

    By Tomcat2011
I’ll keep this short. New design is terrible; now it looks just like any other mediocre weather app. The widget doesn’t appear the majority of the time.
  • Don’t buy this for the Watch app

    By jackbox
I love the forecasts on my phone but the Watch app just plain doesn’t work a lot of the time. The watch complication just shows the app icon and when I launch the app on the watch it takes forever to fetch the forecast.
  • Outrageous Update

    By MED52170
What? Is this a gag? Your update is the biggest UX gaf I’ve ever seen. You have taken one of the best most useful apps ever created and turned it into the worst. You can’t even read the font size. You should fire your head of UX. And the person who hired them. Please fix.
  • Accurate no more

    By TMekinist
Gesh fist the UI then now with accuracy. Somethings are better left alone. Update now the accuracy problems great 👍🏽 I defeated need to find something better
  • Unfortunate layout changes

    By hjw65
The folks at dark sky touted the new single page format of the app but ignore the fact that users each have their own needs regarding what information is most important to them. The redesigned app necessitates more scrolling for me to get to the information that I am interested in. Additionally, the choice to put the hourly temperatures zigzagging horizontally in an attempt to “helpfully” mimic a bar graph is simply visually taxing. Charts graphing temperature over time conventionally put time across the bottom and temperature varying in height. The vast majority of the public expects that format. Switching the direction around and additionally scattering the actual data (temperature in degrees) by putting it at the variable end of the bar makes it infinitely more difficult to get a quick, clear, idea of the forecasted hourly temperature variations. I’d suggest putting the temperatures back on the left side of the screen, just after the hour and allowing users to customize the order of the modules on their page. These simple changes would go a long way towards easing users pain. St this point I have a hard time bringing myself to open the darksky app on my iPhone. Instead, I’ve reverted to opening darksky’s web page in safari.
  • Accuracy has gone down with redesign

I have been using this app for years, it was amazing! I commute by motorcycle in the midwest, and the app was great for helping me navigate when to leave home to avoid the rain, or if i need to just take the car. But...New design makes viewing rain percentages a lot less clear. On top of that, the app seems to not be as good as at forecasting as it was. Not sure if coincidence or not, but i have gotten rained on while on my bike three times since the update. All three times the forecasting chance of precip was 0. Giving it a week before deleting. Can’t say i would recommend this app anymore.
  • Don't like new update

    By Jdawg800008
The UI update is uninspired and confusing. What is this arbitrary Precipitation % scale? Nothing makes sense anymore and the app is cluttered. Overall, have loved and used this app for years. Starting to be disappointed however.
  • I love it but asking for a few changes

    By vivasuzi
I love this app. It’s the first time I took the plunge and paid for a weather app. After my fav app went away, I hunted around and tried a bunch until I found this one. I like all the changes in the most recent updates. There are two things I think could be improved. 1- I’d like to see the weather arrows on the map. They show on the mini map but not when you click to view the full radar. The direction of the storm makes a huge difference in what amount of rain we will get. And 2- I wish the date would show next to the days for the future forecast. Sometimes I have plans based on a date and I get a little lost remembering if that date is a fri sat sun etc. Showing the date would make a huge difference. Overall I’ve found this app to be fairly accurate. It loads fast and it’s easy to see the forecast fairly quickly.
