Dark Sky can tell you at a glance exactly when it will rain (or snow) up to an hour in advance, so you’re free to walk the dog or run out to lunch and know you’ll stay dry. You can also explore the most beautiful weather animation you’ve ever seen, both forward in time or back. (Dark Sky is available in the US, UK and Ireland.) YOUR WEATHER, DOWN TO THE MINUTE Using GPS, Dark Sky is able to create forecasts for your precise location, giving you minute-by-minute predictions for the next hour and hour-by-hour forecasts for the next day and week. BEAUTIFUL WEATHER ANIMATIONS The same technology that powers Dark Sky’s predictions also allows us to make the world’s first perfectly smooth radar animation. Other apps show you a chunky slideshow that makes it nearly impossible to tell how storms are moving. But Dark Sky’s radar animation lets you see the actual path of the storm: how it moved in the past, and where it’s going in the future. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS Dark Sky comes with advanced notification options: Receive down-to-the-minute alerts before it starts raining at your exact location, get notified of government severe weather alerts (for such things as thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, etc), or even create your own custom notifications covering the next 24 hours for things like temperature, wind, precipitation and more. Even if you haven't opened the app in days, Dark Sky will tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it. TODAY WIDGET The Dark Sky Notification Center Widget tells you at a glance what's going to happen in the next hour and the next week, so you don't even have to unlock your phone to quickly check the weather before heading out. APPLE WATCH Dark Sky looks great on your wrist. Get notifications and check out the weather for the next week with the Dark Sky app built from scratch for Apple Watch.

Probably the most sophisticated and least tv-announcer site you can find. Easy to use and responsive support. RB
  • Great app minus the radar

    By PatrickStim002
Love the minute by minute precipitation alerts but have never used the radar because it’s confusing and hard to read. I would really love to see Dark Sky add a traditional radar with the amazing accuracy they have, especially after losing my go to radar app Storm. I feel as if the App Store is lacking an easy to use precise radar.
  • Great interface but my most inaccurate weather app

    By EJ&KE
I really like the way that they have designed the app visually and what is included. However out of the four different weather apps that I use, this is the most Inaccurate of them all by far in terms of precipitation and I regularly receive a message that the satellite is down. That doesn’t seem to happen with my free apps.
  • I love this app!

Knowing when big winter storms are on the way is very helpful!!! So accurate! Love the world radar, fun bonus!!
  • Watch Complication Doesn’t Update

Generally high quality app but the watch complication doesn’t update to the current temperature. Strangely, it shows a seemingly arbitrary number.
  • Horrible & Broken

This app used to be great and the past year or so it took a turn for the worse. It’s now 100% unreliable in NYC. It will be raining and he app says it’s sunny - just one example of how wrong or delayed the forecasts are. Multiple times I would check the forecast before work to see if it’s going to rain that day, it said it would be sunny all day, when in reality it was going to rain and all of the other apps were accurately predicting this. This app is living off its legacy. It’s the worst weather app I’ve used. Shocked at the positive reviews on here.
  • Needs to add a few more helpful features.

    By Venerii
I downloaded this app because friends told me it was more accurate, and raved about how helpful it is. So far, it has not been any more useful than the weather channel app, and in fact, alerts have been more accurate from the WC app. I hope the developers read this because I have a few suggestions for a future update to make this app more useful: 1) add a “future radar” 2) zoom closer to where the user actually is on the radar map. It’s really not helpful to look at the entire hemisphere for local weather patterns. 3) Give day-to-day break down for the next few days’ weather patterns morning to afternoons to evenings expectations. That would help in planning events. I would like to be able to just use one weather app, and if I am going to pay for one, that one should be my primary app. This one still needs some added content.
  • A SC weather watcher

Dark Sky is far superior to other weather apps. It is comprehensive and always reliable forecasts.
  • Only weather app you need

    By Bonniepa71
Great app- accurate and rarely have user issues. Only improvement would be more detailed/extensive daily forecast.
