Dark Sky is the most accurate source of hyperlocal weather information. With down-to-the-minute forecasts, you’ll know exactly when the rain will start or stop, right where you’re standing. (It’s like magic.) Featured in: New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Wired, and more. YOUR WEATHER, DOWN TO THE MINUTE Dark Sky is able to create forecasts for your precise location, giving you minute-by-minute predictions for the next hour and hour-by-hour forecasts for the next day and week. BEAUTIFUL WEATHER ANIMATIONS The same technology that powers Dark Sky’s predictions also allows us to make the world’s first perfectly smooth radar animation. Other apps show you a chunky slideshow that makes it nearly impossible to tell how storms are moving. But Dark Sky’s radar animation lets you see the actual path of the storm: how it moved in the past, and where it’s going in the future. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS Dark Sky comes with advanced notification options: Receive down-to-the-minute alerts before it starts raining at your exact location, get notified of government severe weather alerts (for such things as thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, etc.), or even create your own custom notifications covering the next 24 hours for things like temperature, wind, precipitation and more. Even if you haven’t opened the app in days, Dark Sky will tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it. TODAY WIDGET The Dark Sky Notification Center Widget tells you at a glance what’s going to happen in the next hour and the next week, so you don’t even have to unlock your phone to quickly check the weather before heading out. TIME MACHINE Explore weather in the past or future. Choose a date and see historical weather data or future predictions based off of seasonal averages. APPLE WATCH Dark Sky looks great on your wrist. Get notifications and check out the weather for the next week with the Dark Sky app built from scratch for Apple Watch.

  • Good App Except Requires “always” Location Access.

    By Biffy215
I do not want apps that constantly track my location. Why can the app not be programmed to set for alerts for cities, rather than only my current location?
  • Not as good as it once was

    By VisualSeed
Dark Sky used to be a beautiful app that did a scarily good job of telling me when it was going to rain. Now, it’s a convoluted mess that has contradicting data points and summaries and does a very poor job of telling me when it is going to rain. I originally bought this app because it did one thing and one thing very well. I didn’t want a full featured weather app. I just wanted to know if it is going to rain. Now I’m never sure :(
  • No reason for this app

    By Mndance165
What made this app so different and famous was it’s emphasis on predicting what the exact weather, particularly rain or snow, was going to be within the next hour or so...that was it’s main purpose and made it so different from all the others... Now in latest app they minimize that vital feature, hide it almost, with small fonts and make it hard to see in the clutter and with very minimum detail...so this app now appears like all the rest...nothing special, a dime a dozen...no reason not to use all the better general weather apps out there...bad move! Suggestion to the developers...emphasize what you use to do best...enhance your best feature...tell us in a bold and in a more detailed way what the precipitation will be as we plan to go outside in an hour or so...stop being a generalist...and get back to your specialty of the past...this app is going in the wrong direction...get back to what made you special! Predict the weather in the most detailed way you can for the coming hour or two...then you’ll have an app that stands out from the crowd...
  • Can’t even get the current temperature correct!!!

    By lolly55pops
Wish I could get a refund...right from the first time I opened the app. I live in La Quinta Ca and the first night I opened the app it was 65 degrees outside, dark sky said the current temperature was 86!!! Thought it must be some kind of temporary glitch but no, it is the second night and it is currently 70 degrees outside, dark sky says it is currently 84 degrees. If it can’t even get the current temperature correct why would you believe anything else it says? Enough said!
  • Waste of Money

    By jekka Aki
I thought this would be a really helpful app, and at times it was helpful. But I started to notice something. The temperatures were all wrong and way off from what it should say. It’s annoying that I spent money on an app that can’t even tell me how hot or cold it’s going to be on any day.
  • Inaccurate Overpriced overhyped

    By The Man behind E
Why is this App so expensive. The weather is never accurate. The rain prediction percentages are completely wrong and in conflict with other weather apps Wasted money on this app. Please look elsewhere and say your money
  • Favorite locations

    By lucky gander
This is almost the best weather app. I love that it allows me to search very specific locations, such as Disneyland or the Main Lodge at Mammoth Mountain. Also, it is usually more accurate than my other weather app. I love this so much that I wish I could save more than 5 favorite locations. Give me more, you have a great app!
  • Doesn’t work in Europe

    By D.F. Barnacle
Nowhere in description does it point out that it will not work in Europe. Waste of money in my case.
  • Loved the old version, updated version is a downgrade

    By ms227
The updated version of this app is like using an analog app. What happened to the useful interface? I might as well google the weather on a web browser. Total downgrade. It appears like a lazy, low- cost design. Disappointed!
  • Try Again

    By Gordon-Gladwin
Constantly get the same message... can’t find your location, try again. This didn’t use to happen. What went wrong?
