It used to be a decent app. But the issue is zero support on issues. This has always been an issue but since Google purchased it has become much worse. The nutrition is the most important part of the app and it has stopped working for several months. If you go on the Fitbit forum, literally thousands of people complaining and they do nothing. I went to Fitbit support on twitter. They send you a private message with the common suggestions such as log out, log in, delete, reinstall. It doesn’t work. Then they ignore you and ask for a review. Complete lack of care and out of touch. Incompetence and arrogance. If anyone offered a fitness app that integrated the nutrition into the same app. Unlike the way apple does. I would switch. I’ve had tons of Fitbit devices over the years and this is beyond frustrating.
  • Great app missing key features

It would be great if I could add recipe from either existing food or custom food.
  • Stop asking to update location settings EVERY time I start the app. Good grief.

Just saying NO is getting very old.
  • Impossible to turn off Location Sharing Popup

Decent app overall, but I do NOT want FitBit to have 24/7 access to my location. If you set Location Sharing to anything other than “Always” (where it tracks your GPS location all day long), it gives an annoying popup EVERY TIME you load the app! Customer support’s response: “yes, you’ll keep getting the popup until you comply.”

  • Lots of issues - Fitbit/Google doesn’t seem interested in fixing

I’ve been using Fitbit for years and the app is a mess frankly. It has pros and cons obviously because I’ve been using it this long. I’ve contacted support multiple times with issues and they always say the same thing and nothing ever gets better - restart the Fitbit, delete the app, turn your phone off and on again. Nothing ever gets better. When Google bought Fitbit I was excited thinking they’d fix the usability of the app. Yes, they have added new features, but they’re useless. They need to fix the bugs they currently have. For calorie tracking, the food database is wrong and you can’t do anything to fix it. There are foods I log every day that I have to hand calculate calories for because Fitbit is just wrong. It is highly frustrating. Plus, it can’t do simple subtraction for calories left in the day. On the dashboard, it will say I have 600 calories LEFT for the day, but then I’ll click the tile and it will say I’m 250 OVER for the day. Plus, it can’t do a simple weight subtraction. How much weight have you lost if you go from 175 to 170? You’d think 5 lbs right? Wrong. Fitbit says 4.9 lb lost. I have active zone minutes (which are based on heart rate) that log when I’m asleep, but then I look at the heart rate for that time, and there’s no spike. The graphs and data that are supposed to match up actually don’t. These are all issues Ive brought to support for the past YEAR and they do not seem to care. The menstrual tracking for women is also awful. It makes no sense. It won’t even let me add a period because it was too close to another one I had logged - 2 weeks. Newsflash Fitbit: womens bodies vary. I would LOVE for Fitbit to listen to their customers but at this point, I don’t think they care.

I have had some version of the Fitbit since 2013 so I feel qualified to write a review. When I first updated from the very basic Fitbit to the smart watch version it was a hands down 5 plus. However it has continually and gradually failed to maintain this rating. First to go, synchronizing completely with the Lose It app. It still syncs foods but not exercise without paying $’s for premium. Next to go, storing my music on the watch itself. This is gone period on the Versa that I own. Thirdly it will not function properly, weather app, etc without my allowing it to have my location services set to “always”. This is an unnecessary battery drain. Oh by the way every single time the app is opened it will tell you to open you location settings and turn them on so they can better “track” you. Did someone say that Google owns Fitbit now. That would explain that. Lastly the Nest app disappeared when they.got bought out, I guess Google doesn’t play well with Nest. I have stuck out the continual assaults on the functionality of the watch as I am loyal to a fault but how much longer? IDK.

I sometimes use my iPad to view the insights for my Fitbit Sense. I would love it if you make an iPad size version of the app. Thanks! ☺️

Have had the Charge 4 for just over a year. Biggest issue is that it regularly doesn’t track my runs with GPS. Consider a different device if you want consistent GPS tracking. Otherwise it seems to track everything (heart rate, calories) fairly accurately.
  • Not reading Apple health data any more, bad move

Now I have to buy 3rd party app to do that. One step backwards
