I love this app because it’s free (with my library), simple to use, and easy to progress through lessons. It really makes me feel like I’m learning Spanish, but not only that, I’m learning vocabulary to use in the real world.
  • One of the best apps for Language learning!

well structured lessons, covers a lot of topics and a different approach to learning a new language in a more engaging and fun way.

For German review cards, it will sometimes have a phrase that doesn’t match its translation.
  • This is a great tool

I am having a delightful time engaging with this material. It is so encouraging to progress without pressure to perform. Love of learning is reward enough! I like being able to review each lesson multiple times for review and reinforcement. At some point this will need to be supplemented with instruction in writing the language (Hebrew), but for now I am sufficiently challenged with what is offered here.

Got this for Romanian. Looked at the other languages and thought “Well that’s a lot.” No. It’s not a lot. It’s without using hyperbole, a ton of languages. I haven’t even heard of some of them. And I consider myself a linguaphile. So, I’m not impressed. I’m blown away. It’s introductory courses from what I’ve seen but the breadth of content is staggering.
  • Good as a supplement, not a primary learning tool

Decent app to learn and review some new vocabulary. I’ve been using the Swahili module, so I can only speak to that. Swahili could use some improvement. It is far from providing a comprehensive understanding of the language, especially when it comes to grammar. Some of the translations are questionable, involve not quite the right tense (past tense vs present perfect), some cultural notes are iffy (“ugali” is also called “ugali” in Kenya, not just Tanzania) and the language used is very much on the formal side. I do like the spaced repetition review aspect. However I finished all the modules in about 4 hours. I wish there was a lot more content here!
