  • So glad I finally got this app!

    By Mreeble
For the longest time, I’d search Yelp reviews for the word “vegan”, which was time consuming and not all that effective. This is so much better!! I used it on my last trip and it made finding vegan food a breeze. Would definitely recommend!!
  • Needs a map

I wish you could open up a map. I’m in NYC and am finding it challenging to look for results on the other side of town.
  • Great food finder

As a vegan, this app is a great tool in locating delicious and excitingly new cuisines. It helps expand the various plant based options that many restaurants, while not being vegan establishment.
  • Not a necessity

Does a fairly good at listing vegan restaurants. But fails to list chain restaurants. The app comes in handy, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not worth $4. You can just go on their website in safari and use it for free. Basically a watered down more expensive Yelp.
  • What would I do without my HappyCow

This app is amazing to find local vegan restaurants or vegan options but is a life saver when you travel abroad. I can’t live without it. Thanks!
  • Could be better

I live in a large metropolitan area, and I am never pleased with the finding when I jump on happy cow. I get way more out of simply hopping on google and typing ‘vegan food near me’ Save your money!
  • Much better than website!

This was super helpful for my road trip through ten states in the Western US. My only complaint is that you can’t rate an omni restaurant 5 stars, no matter how good their vegan options are or how many they have! Seems a little manipulative and misleading.
  • Missing features

It’s nice to get a social side of plant-forward diets, and the following for the app has really made it a great resource for finding those places. * Update based on developer’s second response: I appreciate your time to explain the intention behind the app. I think that others could benefit by understanding that you want to highlight places that are *purposely* providing plant-based options. I recommend you put that in the app’s description. As it stands, it seems like you’re trying to advertise your service as a yelp-for-vegans; which is why I was confused.
  • I love the app

I’ve used this app in a lot of counties and been really happy. From a small vegan taco cart in Mexico City to a great vegan place in Denver. You can’t go wrong with the help of this app. Easy to search ahead of time and create a ‘trip’, so when you get to your destination you already have your food mapped out.
  • Best resource for finding veg-friendly restaurants

Someone recommended this to me when I first went vegan a few years back. It had been less than a month and I was just starting to feel that I wouldn’t be able to do it because I missed eating out with the family. We met this guy in front of the one vegan restaurant I managed to find by just trying to Google a bunch of stuff and when I told him what I went through, he told me about the app and I have been an avid user since! I have used it to plan trips because you can save an itinerary of places you want to visit beforehand and it’s really easy to add restaurants that you may find on your own. If you use the app I encourage you to leave reviews and add restaurants because that’s how the information grows. It is definitely worth the download! *As of Aug 2018, the app has been redesigned and looks great! The ability to filter by restaurant type directly from the main page is a welcome new addition!
