  • Garmin N. America inoperable since latest update

    By Tralemaster
Since the last update the app requires the user to update maps and required files. Over 3gig of Maps loaded with no problem. However the 51m REQUIRED file fails to download rendering the system to not work. Apple technical support representative points you to Garmin. Garmin says problem since last Apple update. Garmin technical support instructed me to “ After installing the map files, press the red X on required files and try downloading again. It may take a few tries. Progress should be quick. If they are still having the issue, force quit the app and try again. They can also try a different data source (if on wifi, try cell data or the reverse) *Data rates will apply*” I did all of the instructions on 3g, LTE, and WiFi over 100 attempts without success. The Garmin 3 rd tech support representative said they will log me with the others it fails to work for and they will notify me when it is resolved. She indicated she did not know if it would be days, week, months or when. This is a bad $50 purchase. Save your money.
  • Did I waste $80?

I like the app but it needs to keep pace it’s the latest maps! My std Garmin has been updated numerous times with map updates... Why is this not happening for the app I paid good money for and even bought a number of add-ons?
  • Not even minimally functional

    By bclee
The current version is unable to download required files. It doesn’t function.
  • Avoidance

    By ArmandTwiggs
It would be nice if the app allowed a user to avoid a certain part of a route. E.g., a street or highway. Presently it only allows avoiding areas where there are traffic jams.
  • Required files

The trip log stop working on my iPhone x After latest update
  • Broken app now fixed

So I installed the app on my new iPhoneX, and when I ran it, NO MAPS. Upon reading reviews, a number said the app was discontinued. False Info, but Garmin had no support info stating otherwise. It turns out there was a bug of some kind, and as of March 11th to 12th, everything is working again. I was thisclose to calling Garmin and telling them to &$#* #$@ after I spent $80 for an app that lasted only 7 months. Now I have my app back and all is well. Frankly, this is the only map app that I like, so I’m very happy now. Four stars for the poor communication and lack of a support page for this app with an update on the problem. Would be 5 stars otherwise, if I wasn’t put through the ringer, and thought for 5 days that I wasted $80.
  • App discontinued?

    By An Internet Citizen
I had to reinstall the app and ran into an issue where there are no maps to download. I attempted to locate support and it was impossible. What I did locate is a press release from Garmin saying since last July 2017 that the “Garmin Streetpilot” app (which I think this and the USA version are) have been discontinued. Fine, don’t update anymore but at least let us download the last available maps. How can Garmin sell these apps still and not provide maps? It is a scam. — March 12, 2018 Update — It looks like the app is not discontinued. The patch today fixed the map download issue. So this is once again the best GPS on iPhone. Changed to 5 stars.

Don’t even think about buying this app! Better you flush a $50 bill down your toilet, at least you get the satisfaction of knowing where it went. Stupid app will NOT move past download the maps (which cannot be accessed). No matter what you do it will not move past this STUPID screen!!!!!!! He y GARMEN THANKS FOR NOTHING! One customer that wouldn’t buy anything from you again (F&@gking) CROOKS! The single star represents negative 1 (NICE WORK YOU CLOWNS)! Give my money back losers!
