Loved my digital subscription because I could read the magazine anywhere. Now it’s just a buggy version of the website.

Please bring back the old format. This new style is worthless.
  • Worst app update ever

Is this really how Nat Geo is going to look now? Does the management really find it smart to ignore all the negative comments from long time subscribers? As the majority, I just want the online version of a magazine with table of contents and with pages I can flip through. What I don’t want is a mediocre looking collection of articles which I can’t even read offline. If this is not fixed soon, I will not be renewing my subscription.
  • App is now garbage

Some idiot changed the app and now you can’t read anything if you subscribed through iTunes. The FAQ says to click on settings and then on Restore Purchases. Problem is there is no Restore Purchases button. Unsubscribing immediately. What a shame was one of my favorites but I’m not putting up with this terrible redesign. I don’t want anything fancy just an app that lets me flip through the magazine pages. Why is that so hard to leave alone? Sigh

Update has destroyed offline reading and magazine formattimg across the board. Will be cancelling my digital subscription. You blew it big time, National Geographic!
  • Disaster

I am discontinuing my subscription until a down-loadable version is possible. I agree with all other 1 star reviews.

The app is now “reimagined”, as in “imagine if we could make the app worthless?” I used to like this app since it was essentially an e-version of the print issues. Now it only has the main articles (with numerous rendering bugs), it almost seems like a promotion for the print version - the latter has so much more content. Bold new fail, NatGeo.
  • In the immortal words of SNL’s Oscar Rogers… FIX IT!

Ok... who let the PBR smashed intern “reimagine” the NatGeo Magazine app? The only “all-encompassing experience” here is that of utter disappointment. Hey... while you are reimagining things, why not just rip most of the pages from the printed version before you mail it out. People pay for a digital version of the published magazine, Einsteins. You know, a complete, all-encompassing version of the published magazine including such things as a contents page, editor letter, the extra sections, all the amazing photos, he multimedia graphics the old version and yes… even those advertisements. If we wanted a dumbed down, website version, we would use a browser. This app needs burned with digital fire and have its ashes placed into the “Digital Horrors Database”.
  • No offline support

This was a great app until they removed the ability to download magazines for offline reading.
  • New app a disaster

    By Seahorse One
The ability to download an issue for reading offline has been removed. The "Monthly Issues" aren't what the actual magazine looks like any more. You have to log on every single time you open the app.... Marketing missed it big time on this update. Is the new commercial ownership intent on ruining what has been a brilliant publication? So disappointing after being a devoted fan all these years.
