  • Love it but....alarms.

    By Mattbklyn
My only gripe is that it somehow defeats the alarms I have set up in the iOS. If I’m listening to a podcast and an alarm goes off no sound is heard from the alarm and the podcast goes silent. Therefore I can’t fall asleep listening to podcasts on downcast for fear I will sleep through my alarm.
  • One star until they fix crashes

    By antfugue
Love the app, used it for years without problems. Latest version crashes repeatedly.
  • Crashes all the time now

    By EST NYC
I've been using this app for years, and I would be happy to kick in some extra money if the developer might ensure that it doesn't crash all the time. As in every two or three minutes. I spend as much time waiting for it to reload as I do actually listening. I like a lot about this app, but the greatest features in the world mean nothing if an app won't actually run.
  • Need Siri feature

    By TheRealityofit
Really needing Siri control from lock screen. Well really just want to start playing podcasts after I get in the car and start moving. Overcast can do it.. Please update.
  • Love it

This app has so many features that most apps don’t have. It gives you a lot of control over how the app works based on what you want the app to be. Also it doesn’t require a subscription so once you buy it you own all the features, although there is an option for tips in the setting to show your support!!
  • Podbean Feeds

    By TheGoonShow
Missing a star because of issues with Podbean feeds. For some reason they swap information and quit working. Have to delete the affected podcasts and resubscribe to make them work again. All other feeds work fine.
  • App is better than rated

    By Jax.Al
Seems other podcast apps get more attention than Downcast but this the first and only podcast app I’ve ever had. Simply no reason to change to another one, especially when you need to pay for it. No one has beaten Downcast enough for me to switch.
  • Broken- crashes frequently...

    By Ionmenon
It appears that after monetizing this app, the developer has devoted little effort to maintaining its stability. The app crashes so frequently as to be unusable in iOS 12.x. Previously the app was drifting backward... for example, little effort was made in improving the playlist functionality or flexibility. Now, however, it is circling the drain. As long as it was measured against Apple’s Podcast app, it had some cred (in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king)... It’s a shame that as podcasts continue to grow in reach, importance and ambition, that iOS has such a lack of decent, functional podcast apps...
  • Buggy, unsupported, and can’t import

    By mojosam
I used to love this app Did everything I needed in a podcast app. For the last six months to a year, it has been randomly crashing. That’s not too big of a deal, because it’s quick to reload. I have been distressed by the lack of updates from the developer and no place to turn for tech support. The developer’s website has only a few articles on it. But now, the last straw has dropped. The app can no longer import podcasts. I have a lot of archived podcasts on my computer that I want to listen to. I used to be able to upload those to iCloud, download them to the phone via Files, and then import them to Downcast. Cumbersome, but that’s apparently the result of how Apple sandboxes files on iOS for security purposes. Downcast now refuses to accept those files. The app is now 50% unusable to me. Time to find something that works.
  • Unusable over Bluetooth

    By Schef
Been over a month and another update since app became unusable over Bluetooth and still no rectification. Getting frustrated.
