  • Doesn’t function independent of the internet

    By Docmann
Hello, Your dictionary is generally very helpful, but only when used under the umbrella of the internet. I’m certain I have a paid version, and it was my understanding that it would also function as a stand-alone app, not dependent upon the internet. I am frequently working at remote locations, and am unable to use it in those situations. As I recall, I “downloaded” the dictionary in the past, but to no avail. When the internet is available, I can throw any word I want out there for spelling and definition just by doing a random internet search. However, I’d like something that is readily available when the internet is not. I don’t mind upgrading or paying extra for such a feature, but I abhor the idea of needing a quick confirmation of (what is typically) a simple word or idiom only to be told an internet connection is required. Please advise.
  • Works but ....

    By Coconut_radio
The app works very well as a dictionary; it can be downloaded, it has a thesaurus and it gives a sample of how a word is pronounced. It’s good stuff. However, that isn’t the main issue I have with this dictionary. For one thing I don’t like how news articles, many of which don’t even contribute to having a good vocabulary, are part of the app. I just want a dictionary and other dictionary-related fictions. The second and biggest problem lies with Dictionary.com itself. It has a clear liberal and left-leaning bias. I will be honest in admitting I lean to the right but regardless of sides bias has no place in being a resource like this. I don’t dislike their stance but it does make me worry that the definitions will be influenced. Other than that it’s a very useful tool and a cheaper alternative to other full version apps of official sources.
  • Thanks

I especially appreciate your being sensitive to the various religious holidays of all faiths by including appropriate words for each event and observance. E.g., candelabra and Chanukah.
  • Major improvements over the past year. Still room for improvement.

Major improvements over the past year. I’d really enjoy a landscape mode for reading the articles, though. The text can be so small.
  • This is not for iPads

This is the iPhone version, which doesn’t utilize the whole screen. Not eligible for refund. So I purchase twice, and wasted $3.99.
  • Does the Favourites work?

    By NoName123097
I used dictionary.com for a while and enjoyed it. BUT, when I started to add words to Favourites for later study, I realised that when you press view all, I can’t scroll down! I tried the recents and it didn’t work either. Is the app out of update or is it just a glitch?😞
  • Hey please fix ASAP

    By temi_12456
The favorites section isn’t scrolling anymore. When I select words as my favorite the get selected but when I go to the favorites section I can’t scroll to see all my selected words only the first 8 or so. Please fix
  • Suggestion

    By kinki9876
Create a widget that allows one to look up words without needing to unlock the phone. It would be located in the same place the other widgets are (swap left all the way, for me). Maybe edit the word of the day widget? Maybe offer it to pro users only?
  • Can’t view all my favorites

Have the pro version and can’t view all my favorites. Won’t let me scroll to see all saved words. Please fix, great app but need to fix this bug.
  • Most used app on my phone

I love this app. However, for me it's lacking one huge feature. Flash cards for my favorites list!! I'm marking words with favorites so I can review and learn them. Seems like an obvious needed feature!!! I scanned a few reviews and a lot of other people are asking for the flask card feature or something similar. Please, add this feature.
