  • App keeps asking me to sign up

    I pay for my subscription through my Apple account. I keep getting pop up messages that I need to become subscriber but it does not give me to login with my ID and password. I previously reached out to the Trib’s IT help and their solution included me deleting and re-downloading the app. Still doesn’t work and I don’t have time for this bs. Maybe a lawsuit would get them to fix the issue. Enough people seem to have similar issues.

    It’s crazy that the tribune charges for an electronic subscription but can’t build an app that loads articles. I click on articles I want to read and they won’t load. Please fix this!!!

    Guess I’m going to have to cancel my subscription. App hangs all the time when I click on articles. So I submitted a complaint. They said literally ‘well it works for us’ and suggested I browse news via the website. Horrible app and unapologetic customer service. Jeez.

    How is it that newspapers are saying digital is their future yet the Tribune puts out an unusable app. Someone should be fired for developing this.
  • Mysteriously bad

    It’s amazing that for years now this app has been terrible. Nothing to do with the content but the app constantly hangs up trying to load a page causing you to exit and restart the app but even after repeated attempts pages still won’t load.
  • Full of bugs

    About 25% of links don’t work and then you have to close out the app to get back to the main page. I’m letting my tribune subscription lapse because it’s offensive to pay for such a poor product. I want to support my local paper, but I’m not interesting in paying for a crap product. If the Tribune bothers investing in a useable product, they should email their previous subscribers because I’d love to continue to support the paper.

    Your app is just about useless. It freezes whenever I try to open an article. The search function is horrible- I enter an exact headline from today’s paper and get results from 2 years ago. It is impossible to find articles by Blair Kamin or stories I am interested in reading.
  • Constantly crashing / freezing

    I have been a paid subscriber for about three years now. I paid so that I could get the news without having to watch a video advertisement before every click on the app and website. Over the last couple months the app has been rendered useless. Nearly every click of an article takes you to a loading screen that hangs and goes nowhere. You then must hard stop the entire app as it has become unresponsive. It’s been doing this for over two months now. Check you APM and crash reports Trib (If you even use any.) The app was working “ok” in February. No doubt there is a spike in app crashes and app launches. (Sorry that rise in app launches is not rising app usage. It’s everyone restarting your $#@& app to see the news.)

    Can’t even open it half the time. Nothing but advertising and hack writers. We will never resubscribe to this dull, uninformative rag.
