I pulled my rating down in order to get your attention so that I could let you know of a problem: At times when I scan a food item, someone else has entered the wrong item on that barcode. So, I send an update in order to correct the item in the database in order to make it match the barcode. For example, I just scanned Betty Crocker peanut butter naturally flavored cookie mix, and came up with “Hershey’s kisses”. Since I was pretty sure I had submitted an update before, I went back in to check. It showed that my update had been rejected because it didn’t match what was in there before. What was in there before was inaccurate, and needs to be corrected. One of the items that I have scanned & updated comes up with “bananas, raw”, which is also inaccurate. Other times, the item might be correct, but the fat grams, calories, size of the item or other detail may be the inaccuracy. So, when someone submits an update, please try to find out the reason. In general, I love the app and was excited when I noticed the ability to update an item. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

Long story short: Over a period of ten years, I’ve lost 130 pounds. I used Dietpower for windows, we r on the Atkins “diet” and I ended up 6 pounds from goal. Now years later I’m 173, up from 163, with a final goal of 155. The bottom line is, MyNetDiary keeps me weighing every meal, like I always have, keeping me hopeful disciplined and it BLOWS away the old Windows way! And ya accuracy is great. It TELLS you how many cals to eat and adjusts your intake cals continuously, based on your ongoing body weight value. AWESOME- and more! That’s just the tip of the ice burg:)

I love this app. I’ve tried others, and this is far and away the best. Easy to learn for all levels of tech ability. Great categories. Not least: it works. It’s great to be able to track water intake; my one suggestion is to add a category for caloric beverages: sodas, juices, coffee drinks, spirits... I’ve been using the snack option for beverages, but snacks really aren’t the same as drinks. It would be beneficial to be able to track what percentage of total, daily calories is taken up by beverages. Respectfully,
  • Very useful for the most part

Like many other reviewers I've found this app to be very helpful in doing the accounting and analysis necessary for managing one's diet. The interface is pretty straightforward. The one problem that I've continually encountered is the instability in the created recipes feature. (As of 9/18 that seems to have been fixed—it’s no longer an issue.) It would be nice to be able to duplicate a recipe so that a variation could be saved w/out having to re-enter the whole thing. Otherwise I’m very satisfied with the app. Update to above in December 2018: Still satisfied generally, however the created recipe instability has reappeared. Ingredients sometimes disappear, seemingly at random.

Since using this app I've been able to track my calories and more importantly, my net carb usage and have been able to lose 97 pounds in 15 months. It keeps your weight loss in realistic time frames which helps keep you motivated, even at those extremely frustrating weight plateaus. The scanner to scan your food items is really beneficial to record your intake accurately. There is some quirkiness to it but overall it's been very beneficial.
