Very good, measures a lot of data, but playback is very choppy to not working at all.
  • Works great with one tiny flaw!

Everything works great with this app on my $15 OBD2 dongle and my 2017 F150 2.7. Only complaint and it’s not a big deal is on the gauges page it doesn’t save the custom background image.

I had researched these devices for awhile and because of the good reviews I purchased this App. It worked just fine with the device I purchased for my Chevy truck. It's worth the money to buy. It even cleared the check engine light I had... Good Luck
  • Nice but pricey

    Yeah
  • Won't clear fault codes?

Have been trying to clear evap codes but it doesn't work. Fixed evap line and it still shows codes. Shouldn't it at least clear them and then have them come back a few minutes later? Check engine light on and can't get it off!
  • Great app, especially when customized

If you take the time to set it up, this app is far more powerful than the other iPhone OBD-II apps, and puts Torque Pro on the Android to shame. This is a professional-level app from a company that specializes in automotive telemetry for racing. Dash Command will help identify and clear "Check Engine" light codes. You can also record data on a realtime basis, and analyze the data afterward, which is great for racers or tuners. You can set up alarms for certain thresholds, set up a custom shift indicator light, and track your fuel efficiency in many ways. There are 3 ways to set up a custom dashboard for your car: 1) Set up custom gauges in the app. Any value that can be read from your car can easily be displayed in a wide variety of ways and visual styles. There can be only one set of gauges configured in the app at a time, which is less convenient if you have multiple cars, but you can set up different pages of dials for each car. This is similar to functionality in Torque or other OBD apps, where you can add gauges. 2) Download a dashboard. There are thousands of community-maintained dashboards for various makes/models of cars. There are ones packed with info, and others that work as heads-up displays reflected in the dash, and many that are visually creative and have colorful eye candy. This is a big advantage of Dash Command, but these vary in quality and functionality, so try the best-rated dashboards first. 3) If you are an advanced user, you can download a Windows-based editor called DashXL that gives you ultimate flexibility to set up a custom dashboard any way you can imagine. This comes with limited documentation, and will make more sense to programmers, but you can open any existing dashboard to modify it and learn how it works. The editor works great in Wine if you don't use Windows. If you only need a simple OBD checker, this might be overkill, but if you want all the most advanced features, this is the app to get. It works great with the GoPoint BT-1a adapter with Android and iPhone over Bluetooth.

Many of the features don't work. Indicates vehicle is getting 24,000 miles per gallon. Accelerometer doesn't auto scale, so it barely comes off zero, useless off the race trace. Shifting points is a nice feature, but requires info I don't have, like gear ratios for all 6 speeds. It would be nice if it calculated shift points fir you based on RPM and GPS. Also would be nice to have a way to calibrate the fuel gauge. Currently reads 95% after complete ripoff. I'm rating low because there's no excuse for a basic feature like MPG not working, especially on a $10 app.

New upgrade new licensing agreement, changed my review of this application now 'one star', could not create account, or could not get my user name recovered from the app, or directly through company website. Wasted several hours already just trying to pull a code from my car. Still waiting to hear back from tech support.
  • How do you mod dashboards?

I like it but the dashboards are way too busy. The gauges section works well, but limited on ways to present data.
