  • Random Rip-Off

Hyping the the event specials to get the characters you want took over 6 times using X10, that is “30,000” crystals. All you get are all crappy characters and not the characters you want. Experience upgrade cost money after you find the item? Ridiculous rip-off game. Most of the the other characters collected that I don’t I won’t even use. Another one of those rip randomizes. Not worth investing.

  • Not really sci-fi

The game starts with a tale about being in a starship and eventually getting stranded on some unknown corner of the galaxy, but that’s about the extent of the sci-fi part of the game. All the characters and battles I have seen thus far should be in a fantasy game. They wear medieval armour and use swords, crossbows, hammers, etc... It’s as if the developers couldn’t decide on which type of game to create and just threw a big mish mash of stuff together as best as they could and tried to pass it off as a complete game. I was rather disappointed.
  • Way better than Honkai 3rd impact

SOA is very good for a F2P mobile game. As someone who’s played from the beginning but is somewhere between casual and hardcore (I play the game about once a day), I have to say it’s held up pretty well over the 7 months since its release. Pros: • New characters and events arrive every couple of weeks, so even once you’ve completed the main story, there’s a lot to do • You will constantly be loaded up with enhancement goodies (thanks to daily/weekly achievements) and gems (thanks to Maze of Tribulations) • It’s very easy to enhance and limit break characters to get close to the level of top tier players, provided you know what you’re doing (see the reddit page for tips) • As a SO2 fan, finding my favorite characters like Claude, Rena, Ashton, etc. has been really rewarding • THE BATTLES!! If you’re familiar with old Star Ocean games, you’re in for a treat (THIS is what keeps me coming back) • Multiplayer is fantastic - you can play with friends or random people, and only the host has to use stamina, so you can literally play all day if you want Cons: • SOA is a standard F2P model, complete with coins, gems, stamina, and gacha character/weapon draws • It has an option to pay for gems, and the $-to-gem rate is REALLY bad Overall, I’d say this game is an excellent example of how good a mobile game can be when handled correctly. I definitely recommend it to Star Ocean fans. If the F2P model turns you off, I would say to at least try it out for the battle system. I have not personally spent money on this game and found it to be very playable without doing so.

I noticed a small bug. When you are in the awakening screen, receiving you item, sometimes the full inventory menu appears. When you press the sell item button, it freezes. But great game! Hope you can fix it soon!

The game is amazing in almost every aspect but why is it no matter how stable the connection is whenever you initiate rush mode while online it disconnects? Help
