  • The Best Meditation App Available

    By Beeedon
I previously had only dabbled in meditation but never stuck with the practice very long. With Sam’s guided meditations it has become a daily practice and something I have been really enjoying. I’m currently on Day 22. I would encourage everyone to take this app for a sit and see where it finds you. There are also included Lessons that are insightful and provide more context for your meditation practice. I can’t recommend The Waking Up Course highly enough.
  • Good stuff

    By mmcadams51
I really like the meditation course and I like that this offers, almost mini-podcast like courses from Sam. Something you don’t find in other meditation apps. Wishes for future? - when downloading a meditation and listening to it offline, mark it as completed after listening. Right now if you download, then click airplane mode (because you’re about to take off!), then listen to a meditation and then turn airplane mode off after a flight and open the app it still says you need to complete that course. - some additional categories of meditations outside of the actual 40+day waking up course. When I’m finished not sure what will be left! Thanks for the work on this and the quick turnaround adding HealthKit compatibility!
  • New Voice, New Age

Ive been a Sam Harris content subscriber for 2 years and recommend anything he has released - books, podcasts, Apps, discussions. Sam Harris’ echo Chamber is the only constructive one to be in.
  • Excellent

    By drselurie
As a mindfulness-based psychologist with years spent practicing w many different apps and guided meditations this is among the most effective tutorial in the tone, content, and flow of the meditations and lessons. Explained as only Sam can, in a coherent, logical and clear fashion even the most esoteric aspects of mindfulness are integrated into the big picture.
  • Essential Sam Harris

    By oddlerbenjamin
Not usually a fan of guided meditations. They’re either too clinical or too new-age silly. Sam expertly walks that tightrope, but for him it’s not one; he has a vast realm of material that pulls to the rational and sober, but is tempered with a clear awareness of the sheer majesty and mystery of consciousness. If you have meditated off and on for years, but struggled with whether or not you were “doing it right” than this is the app you want. Harris generously gave the app content to podcast supporters, but i am already planning on buying a subscription for my wife. Who knows, possibly even my parents. Learning to meditate is life-changing, and this course might lead you to breakthroughs that would’ve taken years to piece together otherwise. If you’re unfamiliar with Sam, check out his longish guided meditation on youtube or his podcast, “Looking for the Self.” That will give you a good feel for his style and even the sound of his voice (which is comforting in the way a cold marble countertop is comforting) and ought to convince you to try this app. Thanks so much for sharing your mind with us, Sam. This app might be what you’ll be best remembered for.
  • Exceeded expectations

Only 4 days in but absolutely fascinated and loving it. Seeing positive impact to life already. Also love the app design and easy interface. Great option for people wanting to get into mindfulness.
  • Best mindfulness practice in my experience

After doing mindfulness for six years, this app is the best I have seen. It’s organized well and takes you much quicker to where you may need to get.
  • Eyes Wide Open - fantastic!

    By jeffreyladd
I've tried and used several different meditation apps. I like Oak very much. But Waking Up is hands down the best app I've used. Could even hope for. Sheepishly, I didn't know who Sam Harris was. I'm so pleased I discovered Sam, his wisdom and experience and 'soft touch' to discovering my inner self. Meditation - easy simple and extremely difficult all in one. After the first two segments and 3 meditations, I'm all in with the annual subscription. And excited to go down this road. Highly recommended.
  • Best meditation app!

    By Drannan21
I have tried several meditation apps, and liked most of them. Sam’s is by far the best, it explains how and why meditation helps, I would recommend it to anyone.
  • Finally a consistent way to meditate

    By Caliscott
I have been an on/off meditator. I have attempted to curate my own experience using Insight Timer, but I struggled for consistency. The waking up course begins with only 10 min a day. I find I do not lose ground if i use it every other day. Well worth the money for a crash course.
