Absolutely fantastic app. Love Sam Harris’ podcast and the app was well worth the wait. Maybe the most valuable app on my phone.

This is a super effective meditation guide. Im a new meditator. ive tried to pick it up several times previously. For a new meditator, Sam harris seems to know just what concepts, suggestions and coaching to offer throughout each meditation. He gives the growing meditator very useful tools for the practice. His tone and cadence are calming, and pauses are well spaced. I am super grateful for this app!

The first thing this app does is insist that you provide an email address and verify it by clicking an email link. There is no explanation for how the email will be used and no privacy policy mentioned for the data that will be linked to your email. This is a complete privacy failure. What happened to letting people try something without giving up their privacy?

While many recognize him for great movies like Zoolander and the Night at the Museum trilogy, Ben wows us yet again with this fantastic meditation course

Having the luck of becoming aware of the existence of a person like Sam Harris and his intellect, his wisdom, his kind presence is truly a gift. And this app is just the icing on the cake. Wait, no, this app is the cake. I eat it everyday. Thank you, Sam.

I’ve been listening to Sam for several years now and he has given me so many tools to open and reflect on my thoughts in ways I’d never conceived. If you’re looking for the core of what he has taught and continues to teach this course is the answer. You will get a challenger deep view into your own mind to hopefully be able to notice thoughts and reactionary emotions when they are put into cruise control. His goal is to give you control over these reactionary responses to better your overall well being. It has certainly helped me.
  • Best among other good apps

I have a selection of meditation apps on my phone, but this Waking Up app is the best because it’s the simplest and the most effective. I feel like there’s a lot of decisions to make with the other apps, such as which type of meditation should I do today, how long, etc. Sam Harris simply takes you by the hand, day by day, and helps you grow in your practice, one improvement at a time. Paradoxically the simplest approach has been the one that has helped me improve the fastest. It has made my life much better and I’m very grateful.
  • Best meditation app by far

A huge amount of thoughtfulness, structure and wisdom has gone into this app. I’ve tried many others and this is the only one that has not only gotten me to meditate every day (and look forward to it) but truly progress in my ability to meditate. There is so much more to it than just breathing in and out.
  • This will be the best app you ever put on your phone...

I have always been a huge bookworm, a constant seeker of Truth, and a really sensitive human being. I’ve struggled with pretty much everything on the menu, and although I started a real, persistent practice of spiritual “self improvement” 2 years ago, this app has been like a fusion reactor for the process. I waited for nearly 50 days to write the review, because I wanted to be able to at least attempt to describe just how it might be the most important thing you could do for your life, and the lives of your friends and family. As Tim Ferris says, it is difficult to overstate just how valuable Harris’ progression and structure is to the practice. Like many, I have tried several meditation apps and it was always lacking—because it needs to be different every day, you need to have novelty in the practice that your ego is going to insist is “boring,” maybe because it shows you, once and for all, this ego that we feel is so much “Us,” is merely an illusion we create to navigate through the world more easily. Of course we need it, but mindful awareness of this, and consciousness in general, leads to an emotional regulation and a sense of inner peace I have never known in my 44 years. I support Sam’s podcast and was lucky enough to get it for free, so I have no idea what it costs, but I also have no doubt that it is 100% worth it. If you can push through 2 weeks of battling skepticism with commitment, you will break through, and what you once though was boring will become your best 15 minutes a day. On days off, I sometimes do 4 lessons. I almost never write these sorts of reviews. Only when I think that it is something that could literally help millions of people turn from a life of confused suffering—to a suffering of clarity, if you will. And the longer I do it, the more that I am learning that even suffering can be interesting, and definitely motivating, with the sort of mindset that this course creates. Bravo, Sam and team. You’ve completely changed my life, and I can’t thank you enough. I’m also a sound engineer and the audio quality is stupendous. The only reason not to get this is if you can’t afford it. Who doesn’t have 15 minutes a day to completely change their way of dealing with all of the unpredictabilities in life? I know of no better method, and trust me—I’ve been around 44 years. This is a gold mine of coins towards playing the game of being your best self. Sincerely, Aaron Grubbs Aporia Production
