    I took a course in TM in about three years back. Since then I have been meditating 20 minutes each morning. A friend recommended the app waking up with Sam Harris. I have been using the app for about three months now. Finally I stopped. Harris is an intensely logical and rational man. He uses his rational reasoning to make us understand what’s the objective of meditation and does his best to guide us. After three months I’m leaving the app. Never quite make the connection. Eventually his instructions became an annoyance. Now I’m back to TM. it’s a lot more peaceful.

    Admittedly I still struggle using this app consistently or correctly. I can understand it’s purpose and am behind using it to fulfill the potential to be mindful I think I posses. Very easy to use, would recommend t those seeking quiet, or ultimately a change in their daily routine. Thanks

    I’ve recommended this app and shared it with the people that matter most in my life. And I’ve even offered to buy it for them, because I see this practice, specifically this app and the practice with Sam, as essential as water and sleep. Without this mindfulness practice my life was so much different. I have gained control of my perspective, my reality, changed my feelings and my thinking. My entire life perspective has changed. Which, transformed my life. This is literally something you have to do by yourself, for yourself, so that you can see, learn, understand the changes. It’s very individualized. This particular meditation app is outstanding, the practice led by Sam is truly unique. And the lessons that he provides, saddle up alongside the practice itself. The approach is unlike any other I’ve ever used or performed. I’ve been doing meditation for years, going back a decade and tried so many different types, with so many different instructors, and never found anything that really worked for me. I am currently on a streak, meaning that I have done this practice every day, consecutively, for almost 130 days now and I have to say, after 60 days I noticed big changes in my thinking and feeling and my overall perspective of life and quality-of-life. I have space in between my thinking and reacting. I have control and I have a choice on how I decide to react or respond to anything in any given moment. When my adult son called to tell me that he started using this app, I wanted to cry tears of joy! I was as proud and happy as if he had just got a job promotion or accomplish something big in his life! This practices that transformative, that meaningful, that important.

    This app has been amazing, it really makes me want to continue the practice of meditation. It’s very clear, concise, and motivating to continue. The lessons on the app are great as well, even if you want to contra good meditation with the lesson in the background, as I do. The free version is an amazing start and completely worth repeating a couple of times until you feel comfortable with continuing and furthering your meditation practice. I’m very thankful for finding this app.

    I’ve never meditated before and never fully understood the concept or value, but I’ve definitely struggled with anxiety, depression, and uncontrolled emotional outbursts. I listed to Sam’s podcast for a few years where I heard him mention working on the app so I decided to give it a shot. Sam makes it incredibly easy and straightforward. There’s a quick guided meditation for each day and Sam helps gently create a healthy routine of recognizing your thoughts and becoming independent of them. This becomes second nature very quickly and really has a positive therapeutic effect on your mental state of mind and how you handle relationships and challenges. This is an invaluable tool that requires little effort for a monumental return. First 5 days are free, just try them. 10/10

    I have tried the other meditation apps and this one is the best by far. The other apps basically just tell you to relax repeatedly. Here you will learn about mindfulness and the underlying philosophy and science. It has been very helpful for me.

    The app is fantastic and user friendly. Of course, Sam Harris’ guidance is excellent and covers all of the bases for introductory meditation. The timer is a great feature as well and the apple health sync is a great final touch. Additionally, I am on a grad student budget and with a short email the customer service team offered me a free one year full subscription within the hour. The additional lessons will be highly useful for dealing with the stress of doctoral level academics. Sam is true to his word. I strongly recommend this app as a way to introduce meditation and mindfulness into life.
