  • Good, but pretty laggy

Dear developers, your app is one of the best on the market already, but you have to polish it. Zooming in and out works half of the time at best, and it’s nowhere near as smooth as Procreate for example; color picker is completely broken, it works fine for like 5 minutes on iPad Pro 9.7 and then it’s just solid white color and it doesn’t switch anymore to anything else until you kill the app and launch it again. I mean, it’s kinda basic things, would be great to see them working. I see a ton of features which is truly great, the potential is definitely there, and overall the app is good, but I’d really wish if you concentrated for like a month on fixing and polishing inconveniences and bugs.
  • Impossible to sync files

At first I thought I misunderstood Affinity's convoluted distinction between importing and opening files and caching usaved versions locally without saving them. But after watching the available videos by Affinity on the subject, reading over the extensive help documentation and sifting through my settings, I'm certain that file sync simply isn't working between iOS and Mac versions of the app. Even though the files show updated thumbnails after edits in MacOS finder and iOS files, the respective Affinity designer apps on each open a hidden cached version of the file and not the updated file, whether opening or importing the file and regardless of selecting local or iCloud storage in the settings.
  • Looks fancy but is frustrating to use

Selecting anchor points is extremely frustrating if they are close together. Moving them all together is almost impossible. The app is unusable as it is now! Get one of the many free vector apps instead. Yes, I have tried zooming in. The problem is still there. Moving anchor points is broken and until that is fix you can’t use the app.
  • Parting is such sweet sorrow

You were there when I took my first steps into expanding my world in artistic endeavor. You were there when I needed to understand the fine points of making a living. You crashed, you frustrated me, but I stood fast and you stood with me. It was only when I realized that you would never be mine as I was yours that I knew... it was all a dream. I can’t do $33 dollars a month for life. I wanted a partner, not a prison. Is there someone that can make me love design the way that Photoshop did, and still let me be free? Goodbye Photoshop. It has been... surreal. Affinity, shall we dance?
  • Nice App - No HEX color code input!?

I’m beginning to wrap my head around this app, but it’s not off to a great start. Photoshop native. Spent a good 45 minutes trying to intuit where the HEX color coded input was, only to find out that this “Pro” app doesn’t have one... I’m sorry. What? So now I have to go into Procreate, put in the colors I want, make an image of the swatch, and import that into Designer to color pick it. I just don’t understand how a basic feature (if you could even call it a feature) could be missing from this software, and seeing how long people have been asking for it, it’s still not present. Yikes!
  • Still has a few bugs, and some obvious missed features

This is a great app! I’m so happy that I can create vector art on my iPad in a true pro workflow! And I think Affinity is the sole reason that pro apps are finally feeling like they’re getting kickstarted on this platform. Bravo, Affinity. Bravo! I still find some bugs however. Especially around the touch shortcuts related to selecting multiple items, duplicating items, etc. I often find myself having to stop, undo, and re-apply the shortcut slowly to get it correct. So in light of those shortcuts, I purchased a Magic Keyboard to supplement my pro workflow on this iPad, and as I would expect, there were keyboard shortcuts supported in the app. “V” on the keyboard pulls up the direct select tool, “A”, the direct select tool, “I” eye dropper, etc. BUT there are obvious keyboard shortcuts missing from the app that makes my bluetooth keyboard purchase almost pointless. I can’t hold option to drag and duplicate items. I can’t hold shift to disproportionately scale, I can’t cmd D to duplicate items (see where I’m going here?) These feel like obvious inclusions that would make this app that much better!
  • Just okay

It looks great and performance is good, but it suffers from “death by a thousand cuts” types of problems. Pinch to zoom is finicky, UI is not very intuitive or discoverable, and there doesn’t appear to be a way to disable “draw with finger.” I’d love to rate this app higher, but it’s not quite there yet.
  • Would be a five

But the newest version crashes on my 2018 iPad (regular) every time I try to open any file or create a new one. Once this bug is fixed, I will rate it a five. Update: Works again. Five stars for sure.
  • Better than any competitor

There is no need to wait for the big competitor to release its version of a vector design application. This app has all the features and horsepower anyone could need. The best part is that Affinity products don’t require a subscription. You buy it, and you own it.
  • Importing Nightmare.

Great app, love it, but... importing files is a nightmare. I can only import one file at a time. First one imports fine, but the second one locks up. Have to quit the app, relaunch Designer to import again. Have to do this each time. Dragging in from Dropbox hardly works. Dragging in from Files hardly works. The way which works most consistently is tapping either of the + within the app, but this only allows for one at a time.
