  • Great app, I’m just picky

    By emoslayer 1990
First of all I love this app and it has made this a lot easier for my group as a whole. With that said I would just like to suggest making the text markable as I love hilighting and leaving myself sticky notes in apps I use; because I am forgetful. Also sometimes the search option won’t pull up what I’m looking for, as in the spell booming blade. Just some ideas for improvement to this wonderful app. One last thing, will we ever be able to make characters on this like we can the website?
  • When it worked it lacked.

When the app worked on a previous IPad it was decent. The spell search system was a bit of a drag. Now it doesn’t even work on my iPad Pro iOS 11.4, when you guys get it fixed ill re write my review.
  • Regretting Investment

    - Update (6/17/18): Without an update, these guys somehow got the global search function working! It’s not exactly optimized yet (i.e. searching for “Human” doesn’t return the race at the top of results), but I feel that can be tweaked over time. Bumping up my rating, but if I still need the site open for character sheets...I can also still just search for book content online too. Fingers still crossed for the next update to this app! So...when I heard there was official D&D content in digital format I was ecstatic! I purchased the legendary bundle, built a character online, and was EVEN happier to find there was an app. Let me be clear, the app is borderline useless. The global search for installed content doesn’t work at all (yes I have books downloaded). Regardless of what I search for, nothing returns. “Fighter”? Nothing. “Human”? Nothing. Doesn’t matter how simple or complex of a search...no results ever show. Now, if I go into a specific book and then search, that seems to work. However, that defeats the purpose of a global search. I bought the digital versions of the books expressly for the ease of being able to search them. Without that, seems a waste of money. Additionally, the app does not allow you to see/play with characters. I was extremely hopeful the official app would allow this as the online builder is well crafted and other (non-official) apps are pretty bad in terms of character customization. All in all, there is zero reason to use this app (at least currently) as opposed to logging into the site. Even IF the search worked, the lack of character access means I’d still need to launch and log into the site... I’m really hoping this app gets some love as the idea and potential are endless. Until then, this is a one star app only because I cannot go lower.
  • My adventures doesn’t to open so I can read through.

I had purchased curse of strahd and I wanted to download it on my phone. Once I downloaded, it refused to let me open it due to “bad connectivity” even tho I had downloaded the book on to my phone. Hoping for a fix soon, otherwise the app is okay.
  • Not fully cooked yet.

This really is more of a beta. Works well on my iPhone SE but is crash prone on my iPad mini which is a more appropriate device for reading the content. I love the DND Beyond service and this app has a lot of potential but I suspect it will be awhile before it is as useful as the web portal.
  • Not good enough

    By tylerstephenroque
I’m unable to view all of my content, most importantly my character sheets. Once I’m able to view them the same way as I can in a web browser then this app will be great.
  • Not what it should be

    By Craigherooftime
I already own all the books physically, I was hoping this app would offer what the website offers for creating a campaign, and all the other home brew stuff, but it doesn’t. I would be willing to pay for a service but not for a service that has nothing for me to use. Will update review when they give the app priority and update it to where it needs to be.
  • Great! But 1 thing...

    By A D&D player
This app is a great place to see all of your books, my only complaint is that I cannot make or see any of my characters on my phone! And if I just missed that option well...whoops. Make it more visible!
  • Good, but not great

I am a big fan of D&D Beyond. They have an amazing passion for the game and I'm excited to see what they do with this application. And while this solution is much more convenient than carrying the books, until they implement a better search and (less importantly) some way to save your bookmarks so that they sync across devices, I can't give it more than two stars.
  • It’s good but it can be better

Love the app it has everything I need for my campaigns. They do need to add something that allows for characters that are made on the website.
