  • Doesn’t work with Chromecast on iOS

    By Karl361
Very disappointed I couldn’t use my iPad to stream to my Chromecast on my tv. Apparently you can if you have android so I fished out an old tablet I had. Did not work at all. Said “Connecting” for over 30 min. Could be the tablet being a bit outdated but as of now, this service is unusable for me. I do not have a reliable computer or other console to stream and Chromecast is only way I watch tv. Haven’t watched real tv in years since tv antenna changed and was hoping this would be it. Might reconsider later if updated. Had a few shows I was excited to see.
  • Pleased but not fully happy

    By AshleyPoodle
I like the app, I like the options but I wish it had the option to use AirPlay or chromecast to my smart tv since you can’t download the app there. I have it on my fire stick on one tv but I can’t watch from my phone using the tv which is better then watching on my phone if y’all could add that feature I would be tickled pink
  • Annoying

    By k1ll3rM0dZ
I shouldn’t have to pay $20 to get ads throughout the show I’m watching. I’m happy I can watch my show but the ads get annoying very quick. Never using this app again after I’m done with my show.
  • Good Value

If (and it’s a big if) you don’t have a desire to have sports packages as part of your streaming TV service; Philo is a great option. It’s a good companion service for cord cutters that are happy getting local stations over the air; and I think the choice to price it to fill that niche was a smart one. Unlimited “cloud” DVR is a great feature as well. My complaints are few; but significant. I hope someone from product development receives this feedback; as the developer has made it clear in other responses that they are monitoring these reviews. First; when playing VOD content; I’d you forget that it isn’t a DVR recording and attempt to fast forward in a commercial it will advance the time index but continue playing the minutes of commercials. Once you recognize your error and try to go back to the start of the content after the commercial break; you inevitably will have to completely restart the commercial block. Making you rewatch some amount of the commercials that you’ve already watched. This is true if you do this 30 seconds or 3 minutes into the commercial block. It’s frustrating. It wastes time. It should be improved. Second; It’s been years now. As I write this in the Apple App Store; Please add yourself to the TV Providers in iOS. Third; it would be nice if apps on platforms could work towards common commands per platform. Example; Philo has a click and hold to fast forward when using a physical remote where as a different live TV dvr with an app on the same platform uses a click alone. And Philo advances at a speed where the other source jumps a fixed time per click. This isn’t Philo specific but underscores the needs for developers to participate in starboards bodies. Thanks for making a great affordable service.
  • Lots of selections but no cast function

    By tcordeiro6459
I don’t want to watch shows on my phone when I’m at home and there is no ability to cast dirt my from the app to a Chromecast or smart tv. App would be so much better with this function
  • Good app but

  • Perfection

    By Aud Chick
I have to start by saying that I use AppleTV to watch TV. I have the 10 or so channel apps that I enjoy watching. I can watch live and in demand on my favorite channels. We had the Spectrum a la cart of 10 channels and that was $28/mo plus $70 for Internet. We just got ATT fiber and for $49.99/mo + $39.99 for 65 channels. Once I started looking into the channels I actually watch, I realized that some of my favorite are at a higher subscription level it was a no-no. I started looking for streaming services and I’m so happy I found Philo. It has all the channels I watch and two extra that I really wanted to try. Right after the first day of streaming, I called and cancelled my ATT TV. Now I get fiber internet and TV for $70-that’s $30 less for the channels I want to watch. This is perfection. So glad I found Philo before I got locked in to a 1-yr. contract! Win-win, so thank you Philo!
  • It’s ok

But needs the ability to chrome cast, its 2020
  • Streaming is awful

    By Happy_Camper41
Constantly cuts out or just doesn’t work at all to a Vizio tv attempting to use the Airplay, or casting ability. Glad I $20 for an absolutely worthless app. Screw Apple and this app. How about making the app useful and have the ability to cast to a smart tv for $20 an month. Hulu is cheaper and has ads too but it works for casting to your smart tv. Save your money.
