  • Not Ready Can’t stop renewal more problems

    By Dr.T-92677
Read through the detailed description. Try to figure out how to cancel the subscription through iTunes. Regular YouTube can be projected to a smart TV. This YouTube TV app only projects through Roku and AppleTV So you start projecting then change apps on your iPhone or iPad and the TV changes to what is seen on the iPad or iPhone. Ignore this $39.95 automatically renewing service. I’ve run it for 5 minutes and have spent 30 minutes trying to cancel. Horrible APP and Google should fix these problems. Now that I’ve tried it for 5 minutes, I assume the trial will not be available again so I’m permanently not a buyer. It looked promising but does not represent a good value. Sorry
  • Almost there!

Local channels in my market (central Iowa) is a HUGE plus for this service. However, they are lacking a lot of other channels that would make me gladly switch such as Hallmark (without this my wife will never allow the switch 😬) and standards like HGTV, discovery, and so on. If they nail down a few of those, and hopefully get NBC locals too I’M IN! This is well on its way to being the best TV service app, and were I already not with another service I would stick with this. I would also like to see this app have more of a grid style guide too, but a huge plus for live view while scrolling the guide you have. The app moves solid too, and never offers to crash (using the iPhone X). There is so much here to like, a few more moves and this will be #1.
  • Missing major features

Prefer the quality to DTV now mainly because they don’t have DVR yet, but otherwise YouTube Tv is missing something as simple as Picture in Picture or background playing the audio. Super annoying. Will cancel unless it’s added soon.

By far the best app of its kind I have tried hands down. But using Chromecast on my iPhone sometimes when I want to pause or change to watch something else it can be unresponsive. I’ve had to quit the app and restart. Other than that I love it!
  • Useless as a remote control

    By Stray Round
When casting from the iPhone app to a Chromecast the app always gets out of sync at some point and the controls stop responding. You have to force close and start over. Sorry, but this MUST be reliable if you expect to sell YouTube TV as alternative to cable. Even when it does work, you can only skip forward & backward 15 second at a time. This should be configurable by the user.
  • Awful UX

Absolute nightmare to use, does anyone at Google actually use these products?
  • Expected more from Google

I used primarily on AppleTV. 1. Image quality poor. I have 200Mbps Comcast. Video looks very poor. Netflix and Amazon Prime look great.. YouTube TV looks very poor compared to those two. 2. Usability is lacking. Interface is poor. Not traditional channel line up at all - with scrolling channel line up showing showtimes of various programming. Instead, you basically search for any channel you might want to watch. No channel surfing here. 3. I was supposed to receive 1 week free. Nope. Billed early on day 7.. which gave me only six days. No way to get refund for next crappy quality 30 days. I haven’t watched since first hour. I should have cancelled sooner, I suppose. Regardless, I expected much better from Google.
  • On the way to being great

So far the content and the quality have been great. The DVR service also works very well. One suggestion I have for the DVR service would be to allow us to only record new airings of a show. My main issue with the app is constantly losing my connection to chromecast. Since my device is taking place of my remote it better work exactly like one if I’m going to stay with this service. Some other downsides of the service are that it wouldn’t let me cast to my 1st gen chromecast so I had to get a new one, and that some in demand channels, like ABC, have 8 commercial breaks in an hour long show with 6 commercials each. This is probably not up to YouTube but is also the biggest reason I cut the cord. I don’t mind some commercials but that is rediculous.

I used PS Vue on numerous devices for over a year, and was mostly happy. After YouTube TV came to my area, I tried it for a day and immediately realized it was a significantly better product and made the switch. The experience I get when using it on my iOS device and AppleTv is exactly what I expected when I looked to cut the cord from Cable. Only thing I would recommend is to sign up via your computer, not via the iOS or Appletv app since it is cheaper. Good job Google, don’t screw it up.
  • Perfect! Love it!

I have not replaced my major tv service yet. YouTubeTv works great on my Apple devices. On the go or on WiFi, it is awesome. The unlimited DVR is huge!
