  • Don’t bother. And certainly don’t pay for it.

I really wanted to love this app, I’ve had it for probably 2 years, and it’s been a work in progress the whole time... I actually signed up way back when it was free the first time, then they asked us to pay, then they gave pre-existing app owners a “free membership for life”. Two years of changes to the price/subscription structure, regular updates to try and fix bugs that don’t seem to do the job, and no changes in app features except for when it was briefly used to try and shill overpriced and boring Nordstrom’s best.. frankly, there hasn’t been much improvement to the app at all. It still crashes regularly, whether I’m trying to view my own closet or someone else’s. I usually end up building my own outfits due to strange suggested combinations, and sometimes my items don’t load at all. And my phone is in perfect working order. I’ve removed and reinstalled the app. It’s up to date. I don’t have problems with any other app on my phone. This one is just ridiculously prone to crashing. I’ve spent time photographing or looking up stock images of my owned items because there often isn’t a suitable replacement in the default items. I’ve sent in multiple screen recordings of the failures of the app to help developers make improvements. I don’t have a problem hanging on and just hoping the issues are eventually resolved. But I think it’s pretty ridiculous to be asked to pay for it. At this point, Cladwell should be paying me. $10 a month? are you kidding me? That’s more than I pay for Netflix! And my “gift” for being a “free lifetime membership” member is a special promotion! $2/month for the first year. So $24 for a year and then I have to pay more. What a joke.
  • Free for life no longer

Not only is the app no longer free for life like promoted. The app does not understand layers.
  • “Free membership for life” = “Free membership until we change our mind”

I signed up for Cladwell during the “free membership for life” promotion, and then used it daily for about a year and a half. I honestly never found the outfit suggestions helpful at all - they seem to just be random assortments of pieces without much consideration of the weather or what actually can layer with what - and I also found it very frustrating and limiting not to be able to add layers. I did however find it helpful to track what I wore every day (via custom outfits) and to make mini capsules for trips, and I hoped that these issues would be corrected eventually, so I spent many hours uploading custom pieces to make my Cladwell closet reflect my real one. And now I find out that all that work will basically be held hostage in a few months, because Cladwell’s new owners have decided to renege on the free membership promise. I certainly understand that times are tough right now, and if that model is not sustainable then by all means do not continue to offer it, but taking back something you already promised to your customers is a bad look. Unfortunately I really can’t justify paying for a service that has never worked as intended for me, especially now with such a bad taste in my mouth.
  • Loved this until they charged

This is basically just a storage app for clothing. Their recommendations for outfits aren’t good and I’m not sure what they are even charging for considering that. If they want to make money why not put in some ads? I wouldn’t mind watching them if that meant I could access this for free. I used to love picking out my outfits every day because I can see everything I have, but now I have to pay. I’ll just use my own photos to see what I have instead for free.
  • Beyond a Life Savor

This app is beyond worth the money! It helps me remember what I own and helps style a girl with no fashion! I am so grateful for this app! I have nice clothes but do not know how to put them together. Then I own so many items that I forget what I own and barley use items. I love, love this app! I just can’t wait for the day to use accessories like belts, jewelry, scarfs etc!

I absolutely love this app!! It’s making my mornings so much easier and more fashionable! I was having issues at first and reached out to their customer service between how amazing the customer service was and how AWESOME it is to have a PERSONAL STYLIST AT YOUR FINGERTIPS VIA FACEBOOK MESSENGER THROUGH THE APP consider me signed up for life!
  • Thieves! Stay away!

I used this app under the guise of a free seven day trial and deleted it after 2 hours. I just checked my bank account and saw they charged me. On their website it states “unfortunately, Caldwell is unable to refund Apple payments. If you were charged without a free trial and would like to request a refund, we recommend reaching out to Apple support, as someone there may be a able to help.” This is a joke! If you can’t give people refunds, what kind of customer service are you offering??
  • Paid app now without warning and no email

    By Mereleighbear
I’ve had Th is app since Jan 2020 and have used the free version since then. Just now did an update that said “fixes bugs” but when I re-opened it I had no access anymore unless I wanted to pay anywhere from $10/mo to $50/year! I had enjoyed using it from time to time (esp when creating travel wardrobes) but not at that price! So I go into a private style FB group to ask others about it and someone says they got an email saying they could get the free version through Sep 2020 and also get a reduced subscription at $24/year. Now why didn’t I get that email and offer?!? I searched my emails (spam folder too) but found nothing. Please advise!
  • Can’t add items

I tried adding an item from my closet but there is no save button.
  • This used to be my favorite app!

I was one of the early free users of this app. My daughter introduced me, and we have enjoyed planning and posting outfits. The app is extremely limited, and I am not sure why they are charging more than Stylebook for membership, especially to the faithful who joined early. If they were planning to charge early customers, it would have been great to charge them a one-time fee. Sadly, in a few months I will have to move over to Stylebook.
