  • Unreliable

App errors often and customer service is outsourced from India, has only canned responses, and is completely unhelpful.

The update has made most of things easier and the safety toolkit is wonderful, however since the update I haven’t received any 5 star ratings at all and im not sure why although i do everything is needed to keep riders happy. I used to get around 15-20 5 star rating with old version.
  • Awful support & denying me my hard earned tips

    By Paulie Force
Since there is really no where else to do this I’m gonna spell it out for you on here. The hardest part about driving for Uber is dealing with Uber. Their driver support is AWFUL. They couldn’t care less about you, they are obviously reading a flow chart. It’s impossible to speak with the same person twice. it took me 4 days to have my wife’s vehicles insurance approved because where my name is listed on the page as a family driver is 3/4 of the way down the page and they didn’t see it immediately. Also here’s something they don’t tell you, as a new driver they don’t let you accept tips through the app. And they don’t tell you how long it will be before you can accept tips. So they screwed me out of money, which is the whole point of doing this. Honestly I drove for lyft also and I didn’t get as many rides but I had 0 drama. You have no right to deny someone from being able to accept tips for providing good service. It is an absolutely terrible practice and whoever thought that it is the right thing to do should be fired. You are literally taking money out of my pocket. I’m 99% sure I won’t get a response but if I do, it will be copied and pasted from some pre-approved selection of responses.
  • Ubereats new pay structure is CRAP.

Losing an average of $2 per delivery. They also adjust your pickup/drop off fee if you dont meet their unrealistic expected drop off times. Not until your company fixes its algorithm for the 'expected time' for cyclists vs. automobiles, your customers and driver partners will always be unhappy. Postmates is killing it with a guaranteed $4 per delivery and tips, I'm averaging $7-8 per delivery vs. Ubereats $3.50-5.

I wrote a review when I first started(in only into week 2 now) so I am going to come back and give a better review once I have more experience to back my statements...a few things I will mention...I have heard(on driver forums) that Uber prioritizes new drivers and gives them more pings to encourage them to work more. I truly hope this isn’t true. I am noticing a steady decline in rides, and I do not know if that is a coincidence. About the app. For safety reasons, I think the rider should have to put their full name, a picture and how many riders are coming. As drivers, our full name, license plate and other info is out there for all to see, but we known minimum about the riders. I do Believe it is a safety issue. When ‘imaballer’ requests a ride and 4 males jump into the car, especially as a female driver this could be very dangerous. I realize you can turn rides down and cancel if you don’t feel comfortable, but by that time your already in the situation. So far I have had great experience with riders minus a couple who were overtly friendly for lack of better words. Nothing I can’t handle so far. Also, one of the biggest frustrations with the gps is when it gives an address but not the business name. You can only txt the rider, you cannot call them. So if you send a txt asking which business are you at and they don’t see it they have no way of knowing that you are looking for them, instead of a single phone call that can clear things up. I know eventually I will memorize business addresses(I work in a very touristy and busy area with a lot of commercial properties) and I plan to be a driver long term IF it is financially stable. It seems to be declining by the day, so I really hope what others have said isn’t true. That they only give you a lot of rides when your new. Wouldn’t they want more experienced drivers picking up riders? I’ve had nothing but great reviews and a lot of praise from riders, so I do hope it is a steady source of income and not just hype like a lot of other drivers have mentioned and not really reliable. I’m holding out hope....I will update with a full review in the future.
  • Bad UX

Denying trip request should be harder than tapping on top left corner. A slider maybe? If you are using the app and about to go back to the previous menu, think before clicking that button on top left corner. Because the ux guy thought it was a good idea to put the deny trip button to the same place. And screen can suddenly change. And you can deny that trip you have been waiting for an hour. Uber app is full of surprises like that. :)

  • Since the Update

I can have my app on for hours and get no request. It’s only occurred since the last 2 updates. However it should be addressed .. anyone else with this issue?
