I have used several cookbook/recipe programs and apps over the years. I like the way you can download recipes off of the internet. I also like the way it organizes the recipes I different groups. Last but not least have my recipes backed up is invaluable. That is the pros. Cons: I would like it better if you could change the number of servings for when you have to make more or less of the original recipes. Other software I have used had this feature and I have used it quite a few times. Also is it possible for a recipe to be in more that one category. A Dessert could also be in Bakery, an Pasta dish could also be a Casserole, just for example. I look forward seeing future versions.

My wife asked for ‘some kind of app’ to organize her recipes as a Christmas gift. After being lost in the techno babble of several competing apps, I used this free version of Organizeat to explore its functionality and found it to be incredibly intuitive and flexible. From simply photographing an existing recipe (and type in a title), to typing the recipe in its entirety, this app functions effortlessly. Additionally, several methods make downloading recipes from websites a breeze. I’ve loaded recipes using each tool and it’s a breeze! Automatic shopping lists, name your own folders, various simple sorts, everything short and simple. This free version limits the number of recipes and photos but is an excellent means to learn the app’s capabilities. I’ve ordered the expanded version for my wife using the gift feature on the app store. Automatic delivery on Christmas day! This too, by the way, with the help of the developer’s very responsive customer service folks. Give it a try, you’ll love it!!

Seriously, it's one of the few apps I can say has been worth purchasing the full version. Can easily store & organize all of those recipes that I stumble upon, snap a screenshot of and would otherwise forget about after a few days, or add my own family favorites with a snapshot and have them at my fingertips without needing to spend hours typing everything in. Can also import many directly from websites while browsing. I'm now excited to try out the meal planning calendar and grocery shopping list features too - perfect upgrades for an already awesome app!

This app does exactly what I needed it to do. I did not have to re-type my handwritten favorites.

I have been using this for a few months and it’s just the best way to keep all sorts of recipes organized, modified, and searchable It also stays on when you use your iPad and prop it up next to whatever you are working on rather than having to unlock the screen every time. I love the notes section for each recipe so you can leave yourself commentary after you make something “use flat blade, came out too sweet, cut back on sugar, or even 4 Ww points” as you build up your favorite recipes
  • I like it, but..

Im unsure how to delete or edit recipes I’ve already added. Can we fix this or someone tell me how to? And I didn’t like when I tried typing the recipe it wouldn’t let me type the way I wanted so it was easier for me to read. Thanks.

This app is great and the best recipe storing app I’ve ever had. Easy to use and simple enough for a beginner. Love it so much I purchased the upgrade! Now if we can get a few more skins or the ability to customize a skin! That is my only complaint. Need more skin options.
  • Simple to use!

I like snapping a photo of a recipe I find in a mag waiting for doctor appointment, etc, then I just add to the app right on my phone
  • Some good some bad.

I like the app and functionality, but paying 1.99 for two extra photos and a dollar more for each additional photo is dumb. 4.99 for a yearly subscription or $20 for life to syncing between phones and pc/Mac to me is not even worth it since most of the recipes I like I end up writing in on my blank Recipe book. For the most part I use this app as a bookmark for recipes till I try it out and if I like it I write it down in to recipe book.
  • Caution, this only holds 20 recipes.
