Send a message and don’t buy any subscription apps.

    Love it.
  • Hate the UI

I love everything about Day One, except for the horrible UI! That first screenshot above should tell you why. What’s with that massive space for the icons? I want to see my content, not some GIGANTIC icons. Second, the UI of that same screen is horrible. Try adding an entry without an image, an entry with 1 image, and an entry with multiple images. The staggered display looks sloppy. At the very least, move the image thumbnails to the right side. Please fix it, because the rest of your app is great. Thanks for listening.
  • Increasingly buggy

Opening on my iPhone now just gives me a blank screen most of the time. Having to do workarounds like a long press to “new entry” for it to work maybe 25% of the time. Also despite end-to-end encryption being on I can’t shake the idea that this is all going to break bad, that at some point the app is sold or hacked and all the incredibly personal data will be leaked.

I’m not paying $35 or more a year just to keep a diary. I’d rather just use the note feature that came with my phone. Or the many free apps.
  • RIP Day One

Day One Classic was amazing. This app just won’t make it in the long run. Way too expensive for what it does.
  • Update: Only one annoying quality

Edit: They updated this and I added back a star- now this app is perfect! Thank you!! I love everything about this app, except one thing: every time I’m typing I accidentally hit one of the many tiny buttons right above the keyboard. I love that all of those buttons are available, but they are way too close to the letters for a journal app where typing is such a huge component. Those buttons should be at the top of the screen or you should have to double click them to select them, anything that keeps users from having to constantly stop typing to close out of the camera or close out of it trying to tag my location when they try to type the letters ‘t’ or ‘e’.
  • Conflicted... great app, but poor value

first off let me say that i do like the app. the addition of the voice recorder is what i love most (and the picture import feature). i dont like typing much so voice dictation is great. because i don’t use it every day and only have 2 journals i don’t feel i’m getting enough value. I pay $35.year but don’t feel i use it enough to justify that kinda of fee. I wish there was a smaller tier. my wife and I will be canceling our two accounts when it expires unless there is another plan

Can be annoying but only when you leave on notifications. overall you can jot down memory’s, Tell it about your hole day, write stories, and even Take a pic for your journal. (P.S. It’s also good for controlling emotions, letting out bottled up feelings, and calming down.)
  • Please allow iCloud/Dropbox syncing

I am coming over from Day One classic and really miss this. I can’t see myself paying he subscription fee or the one-time upgrade for classic users unless I can sync outside of Day One.
